Lex Luthor Auditions?

Lex Luthor Auditions?

Despite fans universally wanting a villain OTHER than Lex Luthor, reports are coming in that they are having auditions for the role...

This from one scooper...

Cousin auditioned for Lex Luthor in Man of Steel this week. He won't say anything about it - they had to sign something - but doubts he will get it. He's 32, medium height, thin, brown hair (yes, not bald). non-news, but something in there might be worthwhile.

@TheGODDAMNSUPERGUY HAMM turns 40 next month thats like 12 year age gap, you need some one a bit younger some one thats in there early or mid thirties.

@LEEE I have to disagree with you dude Viggo's perfect for Jor-El

And the one good thing that ever came out of smallville was the the friendship between clark kent and lex luthor they were pretty much like brothers. They should hint that in the movies subtly and Lex has to be in this movie because the lex luthor that popped up in the past movies was never the REAL lex luthor much more cold, calculated and manipulative. Plus Lex thinks he's the hero and supermans the villain. None of this was ever shown on the big screen.

Thank God! The very idea of Superman fighting anyone else is ludicrous! Everyone knows that Luthor is the only villain Superman has ever fought in his seventy-plus years of existence.

Sadly, this is how the idiots who inflict these movies on us think. They've never heard of interesting villains like Brianiac or Darkseid who would give Superman an epic fight. Nobody wants to see an action-packed fight with someone who has the strength and power to possibly defeat Superman. No, we all want to see a bald guy who has no powers and has to use glowing rocks to have any chance at victory. meh.

Yep, agree with the posts saying he has to be there - not as the primary villain, maybe not even as a villain at all (save it for the sequel?)

You got to have Lex. He isn't someone like the Joker who can show up in the second movie, he has to be there from the beginning. He doesn't have to be the main villain, though.

I think Lex shouldn't have a slaphead, he should have Prison Break level hair.

MICHAEL C HALL for Lex. Watch Gamer, for his turn as the brilliant CEO.

He's very age appropriate, for a CEO, who has presedential aims.

I don't mind Lex being there - he is a big part of the mythology, but I'd like him to be in the background and not really a villian - at least not revealed to be one until the end of the film or in the sequel.

I have the feeling that Lex won't be in this film but I really think you can't do a proper Superman film without him. Being a Smallville fan, whenever I think of Lex I always think of a Lex much closer in age to Clark Kent. I think Timothy Olyphant would be perfect in the role.

I don't see the problem with Lex Luthor being significantly older than Superman. Ladies, please let go of all you have absorbed from ten years of the Smallville show. Lex Luthor is a superpower in the world of finance and corporate entities. I just can't see him being a twentysomething emo brat that just got handed the reins to a multibillion dollar, multinational empire company and being any significant threat to Superman.

Luthor HAS to be in this film. And I mean the REAL Lex Luthor, NOT the lame hackman/spacey versions.

Luthor is Superman's achilles heel. Luthor needs to be in the movie.

Brainiac/Luthor teamup FTW!!!!

Older Lex- Billy Zane (looks and sounds like STAS version)

Younger Lex- Timothy Olyphant (dude looks like Lex)

@CBM Contributer- Most of the time u post made up BULLSHIT. I hope this aint one of them.

The actor they cast as Lex cannot be more famous then the actor they cast as Superman. Just like they said in regards to casting a female lead.
