MAN OF STEEL Director Zack Snyder Believes Faora Could Return From Her Exile In The Phantom Zone

Fans remain anxious for a Man of Steel sequel, and if Zack Snyder does return to direct, then it sounds like he could bring back the Kryptonian villains who ended up trapped inside the Phantom Zone...

While there was some controversy surrounding Man of Steel, a lot of fans did get on board with the movie's Kryptonian villains. Michael Shannon was, of course, excellent as General Zod, but another standout was Antje Traue's Faora. Her fate was left somewhat up in the air after she was left trapped inside the Phantom Zone, but it sounds like the door is open for her to return at some point.

Zod's right hand woman pushed Superman to his limits, and would make a formidable opponent if she were to come looking for revenge. During his Man of Steel watch party, Snyder said that he believes it is possible we could see more of Faora given the circumstances of her disappearance.

"Is there a chance to survive in the Phantom Zone with no suit on?" the filmmaker pondered (via Screen Rant). "I feel like possibly... it would be cool to imagine. Faora could return."

Beyond the recently announced Zack Snyder's Justice League, we don't know if the director will get the chance to return to the DC Extended Universe. If he does, then perhaps he'll bring Faora with him, but time will tell on that front. Speculation that she could return in The Suicide Squad proved to be unfounded .

As for that Man of Steel sequel, perhaps that's one step closer to becoming a reality now Snyder appears to be back on good terms with Warner Bros.? As always, we'll just have to wait and see for now.

Would you like to see more Faora in the DCEU?

@ALegendaryPanda - I do as well. Wasn’t a fan of what they did with him in the theatrical cut of JL but a version in between that and Man of Steel is where the character was headed and where the character should be. Bruce Tim’s Superman is still largely my ideal continuing continuity version. He was serious when he needed to be, but also light and playful where it mattered especially opposite Batman

I mean they got sucked back into the phantom zone so yeah it’s possible. But who are we kidding the odds of them acknowledging pre Justice League continuity or even making another Superman movie with Cavill are extremely low at this point

Love Antje Traue, but... I don't see this happening so, why leave hope for it?

Faora was awesome. The Man of Steel watch party reminded me of that the other day. But she won't be coming back. It's been seven years in real-time.

@Nebula - why do people hate this movie so much? That whole battle of smallville was awesome! And it’s just non stop action after that too.

side note, but we NEED a Superman movie now more than ever. i feel like something more true to the source material and more light-hearted would be incredibly powerful, much like Raimi’s Spider-Man after 9/11

Could we just get Brainiac???? Or Bizarro? Livewire? Lobo?
Metallo or Hank Henshaw??

[frick], I’ll take Toy-Man at this point if they just did something different instead of bringing up the same villains.

Like, what’s all this BS, that Johnny Depp is already being considered for The Patman to be the next Joker? Fact or Fiction?

She was awesome, so why not?
And yeah, maybe thanks to Brainiac!
