when did he start working out? february? march? cause he was announced in late january and i remember him talking about how skinny he was.

you can see why welling was never a contender.

get someone who can act & who can beef up as well.

People were afraid he wasn't going to get big for the role... Which kinda shocked me, since Zack Snyder is directing this.

He's definitely looking like Superman. By the time the film starts, he'll probably look perfect for Supes physique. Or as close as you can get.

It's Superman!!! He got so ripped in just a month!! Wow. I could just imagine how much bigger he will be come late August when filming starts at this pace! Wow I'm so freaking excited for this right now!!! NERGASM! AHHHHH!!! XD

First and second pics are the best. I was wondering when more Superman news will pop up! This is very satisfying. =]

i been saying this for along time his been working out for his other movies. he was kind of big for awhile alot of the pics u seen before of him are old pics when he was smaller. Henry Cavill has been working out since film "The Cold Light of Day" and "Immortals".

@Jazzman: Well actually he stated that after he wrapped up filming for Immortals he had to lose all the muscle he gained for another role that needed him to be real small. So he was actually very skinny before he got the role of Superman. He also said that he was nervous of how he'd look like during the audition when he had the suit on. He said he felt insecure since he didn't have that muscle mass anymore.
Also notice how skinny his face looked in the EW cover. He really did gain all that muscle in just about a month. Plus he was more toned on the set of the Immortals and he obviously needs to regain that definition as seen in the last few pics.

actually he was kind of big when he was filming "The Cold Light of Day" last year thats his lates movie his doing. heres the pic to prove it.





he his been training for awhile he just got bigger thats all he was not really a skinny guy. he was ripped for awhile.

@Jazzman: lol. Like you said that picture was taken last year. He said he lost that mass since then. I don't know if it was preparation for another role, or auditioning for another role, but he said that he has slimmed down since then. Every recent picture has shown him very slim before he started his MOS workouts.

@mastarockafella- Well to be honest...Routh wasn't even all that buff to begin with ;D

He's already buffer than Routh was which is great because he's only had his first 2 months of fight-training. By August, no doubt in my mind he'll be twice as big as he is now.

looks like he's on the right track, but he still has a lot of beefing up to do. Superman should have (around) 19" arms. But his chest looks like it might be adequate size. I'm glad to see he's bulking up though. No more skinny Supermen.

@ LP4:

He actually did beef up alot for superman, but the skin tight suit was thicker than expected and took a lot of his size away from him. Take a looksie:

Get over it Routhbootists, Routh's gone. Cavill is Superman. And from the looks of it already, he'll be a VERY PHYSICALLY DOMINATING SUPERMAN. Just what we need.

Routh was muscular but definitely not in "Superman" shape. IMO

Cavill is already at a nice size, but definitely going to get bigger and better in the coming months. He will surely be in "Superman" shape by the time filming starts. Plus. him having the acting chops doesn't hurt either ;D.

@LP4 and yes, I think he'll definitely look imposing, which is what Superman should look like when facing off against villains. I know he gets his power from the Sun, but still, he should look like he could kick their a$$ from here to the moon and back. I think Cavill will look just like that.

@jduke25- I'm with you on this for sure because I've been on the side of people who want a more physically imposing Superman. I don't want anymore skinny Supermen on the big screen. We need a Superman who is more like in the comics- MANLY.

I don't buy the whole sun-argument some people use for wanting a skinny Superman. His name is SuperMAN people...not SuperBOY.

Cavill will only get bigger and bigger in the coming months. No doubts left in my mind about Cavill perfectly embodying the spirit and soul of SUPERMAN!!!

@LP4 exactly. Cavill will be excellent as Superman, both physically and acting wise. And I think his height is perfect, he won't be towering over every single person, which means he won't stand out as much as Clark Kent. I think Cavill is absolutely hands down the perfect person for Superman. And he should definitely be AT LEAST the size of Evans or Hemsworth if not a little bigger.

@jduke- Yeah dude!!! I agree with you that his height is perfect. People kept ragging on him that he's "too short" but in those pics he looks about taller than the average people around him. Plus his physique looks BIG. His look just SCREAMS Superman!

Hopefully he'll get bigger than Hemsworth!

@jduke- Exactly, I really want Cavill to get bigger than Evans. NO reason for Cap America to be bigger than Superman. That is ridiculous.

Cavill is buff now...but he needs to be BIGGER for the movie. I seriously won't accept another 'puny' Superman. The other actors were big...but def not SUPERMAN big which is why I called them 'puny' lol
