The first teaser trailer for Man Of Steel hit yesterday, and probably took a few people by surprise. In the below vid Charles Roven recognizes that it may not have been what many fans were expecting, but that it reflects that they are doing something different, and bringing us a Superman we have never seen before. He also compares Superman to Batman, and says they really wanted to make this character with extraordinary powers relatable, and "emotionally compelling to people"..

Superman takes to the skies once more as acclaimed actor Henry Cavill (The Tudors, Immortals) dons the suit, cape and S-shield of the MAN OF STEEL. With an all-star cast that includes Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as John and Martha Kent, Clark’s earthbound parents; Oscar® winner Russell Crowe as Superman's Kryptonian father Jor-El; The Fighter's Amy Adams as intrepid Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane; The Matrix's Laurence Fishburne as editor Perry White; and Boardwalk Empire's Michael Shannon as Superman’s otherworldly archenemy General Zod, populations from Smallville to Metropolis are psyched for Superman. With the directorial stylings of 300's Zack Snyder and the superheroic production team behind Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, the sky's the limit for the last son of Krypton!

Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel hits theaters June 14th, 2013.

I think I'm not alone in saying this but Fox has seriously screwed themselves by releasing all these 'The Watch' adds. I'm never going to see this film besed solely on all these annoying adds...

Good interview. There was also an interview with Nolan this week where he said that MOS is going to be remarkable and two interviews with Zimmer where talks about MOS and also says that Henry Cavill will bring humanity to the role. But I haven't seen it posted on CBM, dunno why. :P

I like that superman will be brought down to earth and have emotional issues, with being an alien.

yeah you guys this was an announcement or teaser trailer. It was good for that. I mean the TDKR teaser was just the words THE DARK KNIGHT RISES on a white screen and people lost their minds. Atleast this shows footage

Comic-con trailer was much better but the two voice-over (Costner/Crowe) works well. But it really underwhelms. I suppose they will ramp it up over the course of the next 10 months or so.

@xXkryptoniteXx They could have shown the comic con trailer it was 100% better. What was done was fantastic! In the comic con trailer they used Hans Zimmer's music.I believe they missed good opportunity to show the real show the real Superman.

so whats your failed point.

This music from Has Zimmer TRUMPS that Howard Shore LOTR crap big time.

@SuspenseSmith - "If they follow the rule of thumb for the DC Universe.

They have to, or should. Because DC pretty much always adds emotionally compelling stories in their comics. I've never felt emotional reading a marvel comic. That's is what I like about DC comics and movies. This is good news.

Just watched some of Returns and all they did was cheap us fans of Supes out of a good movie and they just worked off their prior success. I'm glad its a remake and whole new take on it, New Jor-el, New Music, better action sequences because this is in fact SUPERman. He should be blowing crap up in his climatic battles not carry a rock of Kryptonite to space. They just tried too hard quite frankly.

I have complete Faith in Zach Snyder bringing up a proper Superman movie. It might not be the best movie ever but its interpretation into movie form is what I can look forward to the most and respect.

*Side note....My two-year old son is just starting to go crazy for Superman, I find myself being asked to do the 'Superman' through the house now. :)

@xXkryptoniteXx: did I say I said that? I'm saying that's the reaction I got from people. How are they supposed to react when they see a "looking for myself" storyline?

How did the teaser do it's job when that's the reaction people had? That or "meh, boring"

I'm not going to say that this is a great Superman movie until I actually see it. I'm hopeful and impressed with what I've seen so far. But I've been fooled by so many trailers showing the best bits of the movie that I'm cautious but optimistic.

or are you a real fan!

I've been wanting to see a Superman movie that does a more modern and relatable take on Supes' origins.

Something akin to Secret Origin and/or Birthright. I can't wait for this movie!

@rbfn04 You make a character with the powers of a God more relatable, by making his personality and struggles more human.

This isn't a polished Clark Kent/Superman. This is someone who is struggling very hard to find their place in the world.

@Beatnation Bro, you're awesome!
