Aintitcoolnews may arguably be the biggest nerd paradise on the internet, and famous site runner Harry Knowles is no stranger to exclusive scoops inside the movie world. Knowles posted a comment in the AICN talkbacks discussing the Superman Reboot recently revealed shortlist of directors.

"I wouldn’t place money that it’ll be any of those names from what I have heard off the record. Sigh."

Now for the record we can't be sure why he is upset. Is it a new director he is not fan of or is he just upset a director he likes on the list may not get the job? Well, only time can tell. It doesn't seem like we will need to wait long before we find out.

And in case you missed the short list posted by out very own DCMarvelFreshman here it is

Tony Scott(Unstoppable), Matt Reeves(Let Me In), Jonathan Liebesman(Battle: Los Angeles), Duncan Jones(Source Code), Zack Snyder(Sucker Punch)

I hope its not Goyer! Thou this time he might be ok, cause Nolan is in the back ground to make sure he doesnt screw up anything.

But still my votes goes to Jones and Reeves.

Ugh....Harry knows nothing regarding the inner workings of Team Nolan!

I hope Nolan “recommends” Reeves or Snyder.

The others just don’t cut it IMO and Scott is past his prime! Another director who I would like to see work with Team Nolan and Goyer is Alfonso Cuaron!

I wouldn’t be surprised if Jones gets the gig either, since Nolan may have a soft spot for smaller indie guys like him with no big time film experience. However, Jones has not proven himself enough yet with big action and a big budget. Two things the next Superman will need and have!

I think with Nolans’ producing and storytelling abilities mixed with Snyders’ visuals and intense action sequences would make for a DYNAMIC filmmaking team that can execute the type of Superman film we have been waiting to see for many years!

Imagine the marketing for the The Man Of Steel film announcing: “From the Creators of the Batman Trilogy and the Director of 300 and Watchmen”

Also, if Zack wants to take his filmmaking to the next level, then collaborating with a talent like Nolan is the way to go.

The Nolan brothers, Goyer and Snyder FTW!
