People, enough with Routh already, the guy is not Superman, he's just a Christopher Reeve lookalike, he's not a good actor, one of the reasons why Superman Returns failed is because he wasn't playing Superman he was trying to play Reeve, he had his chance now give Tom Welling a chance and as much as I want that I don't actually think they will so let's just hope they get someone who can act and look like Superman.

WHY is this NEWS? If I said my friend's second cousin's uncle (twice removed) heard from a guy who delivers pizza to a woman who's dating a dude who works in the mailroom of the WB that Jim Carrey will play Clark Kent, does that necessarily make it so? It's a RUMOR, people! Nestor from 'Caprica' is going to play the Man of Steel? ...seriously? SERIOUSLY?? I really don't care if he's got a nice WHATEVER, he couldn't act his way out of a paper bag! It takes more than LOOKS to make a good actor (just ask Megan Fox)! I cry "B.S." on this one...

Porter doesn't fit Superman. He'd be a much MUCH better Flash.

Another name of a small, wimpy actor to play the Man of Steel. Superman should have the physical stature of....well... the image of Manganiello a couple up.

Agree with 'loganoneil'. First and foremost, we need a good actor(sorry, Manganiello & Padalecki) for Supes. Because with Nolan involved, we can be pretty sure there's gonna be heavy 'acting' work needed. (No. Brandon Routh is not a good actor) Doesn't need to be already established A-lister.

Second most important is the physique(especially height). If I'm not mistaken, most bios of Supes list him as 6'3". So with that in mind, someone who's at least 6'1" and at the most 6'5"(Anything more than that will make Clark Kent too obvious) Remember that Batman is supposed to be 6'2" but Bale(6') made it work. And for the love of god, this time, please look for someone who looks like Superman, not someone who looks like Christopher Reeve.

Thirdly, the age factor. If this is gonna be a complete reboot/restart of the franchise, then retelling the origin is a must, even if it's already done a thousand times before. Possibly gonna be a trilogy, so Supes don't look like a 50 year old by the time the third one comes out. So someone who looks anywhere between 27 and 32 would do. That eliminates Jon Hamm(seriously, the guy looks 43 already).

Finally, get the damn suit colours right this time. And please don't forget the yellow "S" on the back of his cape. And make the "S" on his chest bigger. Bring in a villain he can actually have a fist-fight with. No more Lois-stalking, and no more kids.
