I have recently gotten into watching Smallville and although I have missed multiple seasons, I think I get the base for everything leading up to it. With that said, let us look at the review.
(HEAVY SPOILERS)!

Now I will start with the beginning of the episode. It starts with Godfrey talking about the whole anti-hero campaign. He is then taken over by "Darksied". This is my first problem that I have, but I learn to accept it as the episode continues. Darkseid is portrayed as an evil spirit that takes control of beings. BUT! I do like how they are doing this because Darkseid is said to be "an evil like you've never seen" or "something that has no mercy".
It then cuts to Godfrey, now controlled by Darkseid, giving an anti-hero speech until people notice that his anti-hero billboard falls over them. Clark races to catch it but realizes that his cousin Kara is their holding it instead. Lois notes that it's Clark's cousin which you can tell makes him feel "on the spot". With this scene, I personally LOVE IT! and here is why.
1) The girl is GEORGIOUS!
2) SUPERGIRL COSTUME IS ALMOST EXACTLY AS IT IS IN THE COMICS (minus the red S).
3) She opens up the whole possibility that shows Clark that he should come out of the shadows.

Clark meets up with Kara and is told that Jor El said it is important to get her image across because he now looks at Clark as no longer his son. This creates tension between the two, but only a little. This makes Clark want to prove to himself that he is strong enough to defeat the evil that Kara is supposed to do.

Clark asks for Kara's help with flying. She agrees and tells him to just be in the moment. He then gives it a try, but falls after only 5 seconds of flying. I liked the idea that Clark was being taught by his cousin to fly because it shows that even the soon to become "Man Of Steel" needs help sometimes. There is a scene after this that shows Green Arrow trying to talk to his mother. I beleive he is in a church or something. He tells her that he is trying to deal with the Chloe situation and that all he wants to do is protect people.

The next scenes flow really well together. Lois meets up with Godfrey at a church and finds out that he will reveal Green Arrows identity. Lois goes undercover as a Limo driver to find out that all his info is on a single flash drive. Godfrey asks the "limo driver" to take him to a strip club. She then goes undercover again as one of the "torture" strippers and chains him up. She gets 2 girls to dance on him and takes photos to send to an editor. She reveals herself as Lois but is attacked by "Dark" Godfrey.

Clark and Kara realize that Godfrey is being overcome by the "Darkness" and they race to capture him. Clark confronts Dark Godfrey and is told that he has much darkness in him. Before he is taken over by Darkseid, Kara saves him by either capturing it in her bracelet which can be used to open portals. Clark then saves Lois, but escapes so Kara can hold her. This gives the illusion that Kara actually saved her. So far I could not stop watching.

Lois and Kara have a short talk about what it is like to have her powers. She then goes and gives Oliver the flash drive saying that now his secret is safe. He then brings in a group of reporters revealing on camera that he is Green Arrow. Episode end.

Grade:

Story: A: It flows from one sequence to another and in the end it always makes sense.

Writing: B+: I have seen better on a TV show, but with a budget like Smallville's, what are you gonna do? Just look at what they had to do with Doomsday with the budget!

Effects: Wasn't much heat beams or "super fists" but the flying and the running were nice for TV. Again with that budget, what can you expect?

Overall: A: I thought that this made a great episode and had great acting. I LOVED IT! It is definitely going to be one of the best of the season, not because of action, but because of all the important events that took place in the episode. I can't wait for the next one and I have a feeling it will still leave me wanting more. What do you think? If you saw this episode tell me your review in the comments!

I loved the episode and they showed Darkseid Smoke turn into a rocked-faced creature before he turned to darkness. Even tho Gordan Gofrey was great, they have to keep Darkseid away for a while in hiding and when he is known, he comes in his rock form. At the end I was worried cuz Kara was kinda awkward and seemed "Not Kara." I hope it was just me and not Darkseid Possessing her. It just might of been the hair, lol

First, the "flying," big mistake. Either do it or don't. He needs to fly or not. It's so ridiculous that he has now tasted "flying" under his own power but still doesn't care enough to keep trying.

Darkseid is a demon straight out of "Supernatural" which is kind of funny, but totally creatively lazy. Let's see, he is a bunch of black smoke that forces his was into your body and then your eyes turn black, sometimes, that's right out of Supernatural.

Last but not least. The whole point of the show "Smallville" is to show the upbringing of Superman. Showing why he is the unwavering true blue Boy Scout pure hearted hero he is and should be by the time he is living in Metropolis, working at the Daily Planet, Wearing the S. At this point he is incorruptible, undeniably, and completely in control of his destiny. The show has undercut its whole reason for existing in this one episode, for if his upbringing “itself” didn’t give him what he needed to know who he is and give him that wholesome purity then something else does that for him, but Smallville is supposed to be a show that lets us all see how he arrives to that person. The show [frick]ed themselves when they didn’t end it or change the name after he left Smallville.
In this episode they undermine the entire purpose of their own show. By saying over and over then confirming that despite that upbringing that made him who he is, he doesn't know who he is yet, and isn't pure of heart or purpose or whatever. They have written themselves into total idiocy, in reference to the Superman lore. I don’t see a way out from here. Everything is wrong, wrong, wrong.

I found the episode horrendously offensive. How does Lois ruiming a man who possessed career becuase he had different views then her make for a good episode. We have no clue if Godfrey was a member of Dasaad before Darkseid took him over. Also Godfrey to my knowledge only mentioned anti-hero after he was taken over. Before that his main concern was iligal aliens. Also I was not happy ethier with Lois who is being a biaed reproter the whole episode is pure of heart and Clark is not. For me this episode was a whopping 'F'.

This brings to another issue. Why are the bad guys on this show portrayed as being conservative?

Godrey... against illegal immigration
Asassin Black Canary...outright consevavtive, and her views are never touched after she joined the league.
I think Lex might have even been the conservavtive canidate for the state senate. So what's next is Slade going to be a card carring member of the NRA?

Where's the tie in to last week? He had that half-assed costume and the gelled hair... he dropped the plane ticket and magically Lois is back and that's it... I thought they were going to try this year.

I've watched it since it started... I've stayed true. I can't wait for it to be over.
