"UPDATED 6/21/09: Matt Mitovich of TV Guide says that we first meet field journalist John Corben as he steps into the shoes of a missing-in-action Clark Kent."

"UPDATED 6/18/09: TV Guide has revealed that Beverly Hills 90210 and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles alum Brian Austin Green has been cast in "at least the first two episodes of Season 9" as Superman comics villain "Metallo." In this version of the story, Metallo's alter ego of John Corben will be a journalist for the Daily Planet."

yeah i agree with teabag end the damn show, last season's finale was most saddest finale ever i saw in a series not because of the whole jimmy dying/killing story not because of doomsday kicking the ass of clark kent and in return clark doesnt get more than one or three punch to go with wtf is that about, it was a pathetic finale, i used to hail smallville but now its damn pathetic to watch and lana getting the powers come on, why dont they give powers to martha and the rest of the smallville gang, i rest my case...

oh dear god, here we go...clark will give up being 'the red blur blur', this guy will take over, clark will confront him, they'll fight clark wont throw a punch becaue he's a pussy and somelike chloe will save him AGAIN. this crap has become so predictable i dont even need to watch it any more!

Still, even i couldnt predict how pathetic the season 8 finale would be!!!

Well as Teabag said it supermike-Smallville had its day lile season1-5 i believe. i mean look at it man. you see clark and lois together uh that never happened in the comics till he actually worked there means when he put on the tights and cape. so i guess saying that erica durance is not the real lois! lol. or chole, look at jimmy=dead, clark is M.I.A where in africa maybe. my point is that yeah smallville was good, but this season sucked major balls! Even as Sups does too.and he's not my Favorite Superhero! the Dark Knight!! [frick]nuggets cuz he has no powers and cant cheat. well in today's lanuage you would call that a bitch move on Sups part!.

Season 9 review:

Clark finds lois makes babies leaves her for the artic becomes the pathetic man of wood. and has an affiar with chole cuz she aint gettin none! then along comes metallo (HaHa laughs metallo) i'm fricking lois in the ass..clark or the pussy cant do nothing whines on why he cant save people and then lands a solution on how to stop metallo then tess gives a blowjob to oliver then a few hours later without wiping her mouth blows clark in return ate out chole in return gave lois "The Clap", Bam too fricking easy season 9 done!!!

hawkngo: i agree season 5 was really the last good season of smallville! its like 24, season 5 was really its peak where it was excellent then season 6 was awful and season 7 was ok but now it feels a bit "seen this all before" sometimes its better for things to come to an end and for smallville that time is 2 years ago!!!

look i agree also joshw24- Season 5 should have been the ending. i mean Pa Kent died,and alot of other major factors too. look season 6 was ok not great but ok. season 7 was good toward the end. season 8 the first episode was good, the way every thing was. but after that with lana,legion was awsome, chole on period when she's possesed by brainiac..lol...but davis was a good chioce. but man why did clark get his pussy pounded by dooms then fleap into the air and bam!!! the world caught fire and what clark is alive..they better amp up this season. better be better than season 8. shit let clark fly for once!!! Teabag the dvd for my season 9 cums out in a couple of months!

I like Smallville alot, but if he isn't eventualy going to wear the suit or fly...whats the point now...

Once he got out of High school they could have ended it.
Now we have non super superman.

I mean at least Loise and Klark he wore the suit.
If they are worried about confusing folks with the movie (i dont know how), give him a pre-red and blue suit.

Like the all black with chrome S one he wears in the comics all the time. I just watched Sups Return yesterday. The dark blue or Black one he had when he returned to earth was cool.

Give the fans something.
I always hoped at some point we would get superman.

I like Smallville, but why is Clark MIA at the beginning of each Season.

But hawkngo, dude the show isn't as bad as you make out. They have said already, it's not an origin anymore, it's like an alternate Superman, and don't say thats BS, I mean look at the DC Multiverse, there are at least 52 Supermen in the multiverse.

ANd DC won't allow Smallville to use the suit! Originally it was Welling's fault, but he said in Season 7 he was open to the suit, but now DC has said that they will not allow the suit.

And as for the no flights, well the original Supes was only "faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound" so not flying isn't that big of a leap away from the source material.

Oh and hawkngo THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!

yeah to some part i agree with you hawk, first superman could leaped he did not fly, but now its changed its a new era people are expecting so much more from this show, and they are ruining characters from their origin. like now clark is working in daily planet with lois isnt that so much far away from origin story?!...they should go with the flow people wont expect same thing over and over again if that is a reboot yes people might but this isnt all clark do is now whine and throw some villain to the floor or to the wall and runs away isnt that so boring?! its like same s#it different episode?!...and i myself am a fan of superman.

I have enjoyed Smallville and continue to do so but they have let me down with the big showdowns. Especially the battles between Clark and Zod, and also Clark and Doomsday. Since it looks like Zod is making a return and they are bringing in Metallo hopefully they will up the fighting and make them epic like they should be. No more of these huge build ups to the season finale or season opener only to have a two minute battle.

Dc won't let them use the suits as long as there is a film slated for that character, that's how Zatanna and Black Canary got their costumes.
