Thanks to IGN
for giving the news about John Schneider's return in "Smallville." This is what ign.com had to say:

"Obviously Jonathan's return raises some questions, given that the character died back in Season 5. I can't reveal yet the how and why of Jonathan's appearance, but I can tell you that we'll see him in the season premiere, entitled "Lazarus." In addition, Schneider is expected to appear in at least one other episode as the season continues."

Jonathan Kent was the husband of Martha Kent and the adoptive father of Clark Kent, and ran their farm. Jonathan died of heart failure on January 26, 2006, the night he was elected Kansas State Senator. Jonathan was a farmer his whole life; as a result, he had a strong work ethic and very high moral values. He believed people should be honest, ethical and, like himself, upfront and sincere. Jonathan was a firm but caring father. He was extremely influential in helping Clark adjust to his abilities and cope with being different. He died in the fifth season's episode, "Reckoning."

@ thedarkknight666 - I can totally see that in a vision after he hits the ground with that kryptodagger in him. Pa Kent gives him the pep talk that gives him the strength to live.

And he'll show up in the finale telling him how proud he is of him for embracing his destiny and becoming the man he always knew he could be.

You're half right Hamm3rtym3, Lazarus will refer to Granny resurrecting Tess Mercer, but remember that episode titles for SV tend to have at least 2 meanings. So not only will Tess be brought back to life, but Clark will face his own death also.

John Schneider was part of the reason Smallville was so good in the early seasons. Now they just need to get Michael Rosenbaum back to play Lex, even if its only for 1 or 2 episodes and season 10 should be pretty good
