I am writing this article for one reason and one reason only: I feel a loss of respect for our wholesome crime-fighting heroes, and this loss of respect has reached an ultimate low. We already know that Christopher Nolan has rebooted and updated the Batman mythos to a point of understanding and ultimate realization of the caped crusaders battles with the darkness.
Now, to ultimately move on from that point, there is a relevance who names himself so as Superman.
I am truly sorry if I seem objective at this point, but we are in deep need of an all encompassing super-hero by the means of Kal-El.
Zack Snyder is helming the newest of such projects involving the Man of Steel and I feel hesitsant in some degree.
There have been earlier reports of Zack abandoning his stylistic format in terms of this new Superman film. This does not trouble me in the least. What could be a great film still can and I feel will still be.
My feeling on the character is such as this:
I have already written an article prior entitled Superman Returns: Darker? or as such. I am fully aware of the confrontations that need to take place in such a film to deliver what a "Superman" audience fully deserves.
The thing that troubles me is this: In conveyance I beleive that Superman is that "white bread" beacon of hope. By this I mean that Superman is and has been outdated by the repetive brand of "edgy" heroes such as Chris Nolans's "The Dark Knight".
In the same sense, I beleive that Superman can and will withold his bearing on society. If this is insinuating that the newest installment will bring forth the best of the Man of Steel, then so be it.
Any darkness surrounding Superman will bring itself forth as so. The reliance upon the Man of Steel will, of course, be challenging.
I will objectively say that no film has recorded his presence correctly. Christopher Reeve's embodiment of the character was well beyond par, but I think in todays standards of comics captured on the big screen the fans desreve a bit more.
Superman needs to kick serious ass. That's what he is genuinely about. I beleive in the recent developements and I can seriously see a portrayal of the Kryptonian son as we've never before seen in a motion picture.
How is it that we can bring back a peice of American history in such respectful fashion?
This is our number ONE. Our FIRST. This is SUPERMAN.
Here's hoping that his story is captured for the best...
