David Slade Will NOT Direct The Shadow!

The director of the most recent Twilight movie has revealed that he will not direct the Sam Raimi produced take on the classic pulp hero, The Shadow...

"Lies," Slade told MTV News when asked about the reports of him being involved with the movie. "Not true. Total internet rumor. I don't know anything about it," he added. "I emailed Sam Raimi asking him if he'd send me the script at least, and no, nothing."

"It's funny, particularly with something like 'Twilight,' you get all these bizarre rumors that are made up by bloggers or whatever! And I don't know how that one originated, but I can debunk it and say I will not be directing 'The Shadow' and I have no idea where it came from."

hmmmmm. Maybe I should give that one a second watch.
I was so young at the time I honestly can't remember why I thought it was dumb.

I have CD's of classic original The Shadow radio episodes. It IS cool. There's potential there, no doubt.

@Leee - I figure you take Dark City's style plus I, Robots action and you can get a good Shadow movie.

If Brody sells me on his action ability in Predators, maybe. One character where people couldn't complain about his nose.

MADAME MIRAGE is the female SHADOW. She's hot and the comics & art were amazing. If they every do a movie I hope they use Sexy Sarinda Swan.

I don't know much about the original character but I thought the Alec Baldwin film was hilarious. His superpower was getting a bigger nose!

IMO, David Slade could possibly be the biggest sellout in Hollywood history. He builds up a fantastic reputation for himself as a brilliant, Hitchcockian auteur, and then decides his next movie wil be...Twilight.

Guess he wanted a bigger paycheck.

Anil@ the shadow wouldn't be epic fail if done right!

I want to see Mark Strong do it! His on-screen
presence would be foreboding yet heroic! That is what the
Shadow is supposed to be! He's a scary guy to the bad guys! I
think Mark would be downright frightening as THE SHADOW! Like
the Shadow should be.

With Alex Proyas or Chris Nolan and MARK STRONG
this movie would be phenomenal!

THE SHADOW-STRONG 1

This movie needs to be dark and gritty, dark and
atmospheric, dark and shadowy...uh...did I mention
DARK!

That Baldwin Shadow was just too brightly lit and
cheery. The Shadow is supposed to be CREEPY and
STRANGE and..uh...SHADOWY!

@DDD - Whoa. That COULD be a great chance for Mark Strong to play a hero/antihero. Talk about someone who could convincingly scary the crap out of bad guys! You'd have to cast a super bad @$$ as the villain, or somebody who can always keep there cool. That would definitely make me take notice, along with my Alex Proyas suggestion.

I used to love the original but a new more faithful take would be great! I Like Mark Strong but hes starting to be like so many other actors on here and cast in everything.
