At the end of the day, it's not like Transformers will be the worst blockbuster film he has done.

I like how he thought the movie would have gone to pieces because of boring space suits. And he says this over a nauseating sequence of rapid cuts, flashing lights, and a space buggy that inexplicably has a gear stick with a skull-knob on it. But oh no, at least he fixed the SUITS.

"We had a major problem with our space suit, becuase our designer was French."

What a [frick]ing moron...

@ComicsBornAndBred - I won't deny that the guy has made some pretty bad films, but Armageddon is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Also, he's done some pretty solid films actually - Pain & Gain, 13 Hours, The Rock, Bad Boys and the first Transformers for example.

@ComicsBornAndBred - What an inflated ego.

"There are people in Hollywood that are experts". Well why didn't you consult them in the first [frick]ing place?!

Who actually takes their time to sit a through Michael Bay commentary in the first place?

@Killuminatic -

Okay, first of all...the director does not decide who to hire for most of the production and set design work, that's generally done by the studios. The director can suggest options, but its the studios' prerogative to follow up on that suggestion or not.

Secondly, you should check out the director's commentary he did for the first Transformers (2007). It was actually very insightful and he also goes out of his way to praise the miniature modelers and the VFX artists that worked on the film.

@ComicFanatic - Damn, I should've pointed out that my comment was not to be taken seriously, haha. There goes me trying be funny. And I shouldn't be mocking, as I'm one of those people who do listen to his commentary. Just to be clear, I have nothing against the guy, even though it sounded like it did (which is usually the norm when it comes to him).

And yes I also did listen to his commentary for the first Transformers; very insightful indeed. From a technical standpoint, the've done fantastic work in those movies.

To be honest I actually admire Bay's work and ejoyed most of his films, including the Transformer movies... well, a few of them. The man has an eye for action, I'll give him that. I just take them for what they are.
