So as we know, Hasbro and Paramount writers assembled an writers room for plan out the future of the Transformers films, the team consist of really talented writers such as Steven DeKnight, Christina Hodson, Lindsey Beer, Andrew Barrer, and Gabriel Ferrari, Robert Kirkman, Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, Zak Penn, Jeff Pinkner, Ken Nolan, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, all of whom are tasked in coming up with ideas and storylines for the upcoming movies, so far we know three of them include 2017's Transformers: The Last Knight and and the untitled 2018 and 2019 sequels (one of them being a solo movie for Bumblebee), so the Wall Street Journal made an article about writting rooms and they revealed information about the process of the Transformers team

"On white boards, the group plotted possible story lines about an alternate history of Earth, from the time of the dinosaurs into the future, that imagined Transformers playing roles during events like World War II. Artists in the room turned ideas discussed around the table into visual concepts by the next morning. The group spent three weeks assembling story ideas and then, with the blessing of Paramount and Hasbro executives, split up to write treatments, or extended story summaries, over the next few months. The studio chose one to be 2017’s sequel “Transformers: The Last Knight,” to be directed by Mr. Bay, and another for 2018 that will focus on the character Bumblebee."

Also its worth noting that in the same article it was revealed that Micheal Bay is in fact not returning to direct the 2018 sequel/spin off after he's done with The Last Knight, and the studio is in search for a new director to take the helm.

We'll keep you updated when more information for the future of the Transformers franchise comes along

Or they could scrap the whole Transformers Bay-verse thing and start over.

Start with a fall of Cybertron movie that ends with the Autobots and Decepticons crash landing on Earth Millions of years ago, and laying dormant till modern times.

@TheBeard - Unless this one flops hard (which could in the USA, but not in the international market), dont count on them rebooting anytime soon, but at least we will get a new director for the next one after TF5, so thats better than nothing for those that want a TF movie without Bay at the helm.

These movies are shit but sucessful...I would hope Paramount realizes this because when the International audiences figure that out its game over. Over saturation may lead to their downfall if not careful.

@BlackStar25 - what downfall ? they just got to keep the budget right and they can make 10 more out of this. parents and children will go either way. less in America probably, but we still got oversea.

New director for Transformers 6? I honestly doubt it, we've heard that Bay was walking away the directors chair two times already.

@DeusExSponge - remember one thing, they will have to start shooting the Bumblebee movie around May-June, But Bay will be busy still finishing The Last Knight and he will be doing press conferences and interviews, making it dificult for him to direct The Bumblebee solo movie. the only way he could do TF6 is if he were shooting all 3 movies right now (just like the Russos will do with Avengers 3 and 4), but Bay is not doing that, since he's only doing 1 film right now, or if they pushed TF6 to a later date or moved The Last Knight to a spring release date in order to free him up for the summer which aint happening

Also they have said before that for Transformers 6 they are aiming for a smaller movie with a smaller budget, so they want a cheaper director since they will be unable to aford Bay if they want a smaller budget Transformers film

@eagc1995 - Everything does add up and make sense, and I do like what they're going for with Transformers 6. Hopefully it resembles the first Transformers movie.

Despite TF5 going to suck I'm still interested in seeing where this franchise is going. Despite how bad these movies are (though I did enjoy the first one) they must be doing something right with all these people coming back to see them.
