Why I Think A Prequel Would Have Been Better Suited For TRANSFORMERS 4

I hated 1 & 2, and I didn't even see 3. But I would love a movie about the War and Fall of Cybertron.

@Tainted87 - I can't believe that didn't occur to me! Thanks for bringing it up. You are 100% spot on. Then again, with Michael "Forget canon and any established timeline" Bay at the helm, I'm sure they will figure out some lame way to bring them all back. We need a prequel!!

Finally someone else that gets it! It burns me up that they are wasting Kelsy Grammer on shit character that we don't give a shit about, when he could have been a mainstay by voicing Perceptor.





It's like this franchise has forgotten who the star of the show should be. Bringing in talent to voice the robots would be much better then adding humans we don't care about. For god sake bring back Judd Nelson to voice Hot Rod (an epic move that would be right). Shoot, I could have seen Mark Wahlberg voicing an Autobot or Decepticon.

I know we are a long way off from it happening, but I truly hope someone could come and snatch this franchise from Bay's slimy fingers. That way we could get the war on Cybertron that we should have gotten long ago.

Yeah but the graphic novels didn't do the three movies any justice. They just introduced characters to kill them off before the next movie. My son loves these factors films. I'm a huge Transformers fan myself, but the movies were a little annoying with too much human drama. I thoight it was supposed to be humans getting caught up in the Cybertronians war. Not Cybertronians getting caught up in high school drama.

I was writing my own prequel for my son. I figured out a clever way to tell the story from Megatrons and Optimus perspective. The story would of started off with them as partners. On a mission. They would both be the same rank, under Sentinel primes command. Megatron would always feel a little jealousy over the fact that Optimus was named a Prime when he emerged from the well of Allsparks, destined to take Sentinels place. While Megatron had to fight for his position, sometimes making decisions that other bots wouldn't make to achieve his goals. On this mission Megatron would get separated from Optimus, and find something that would forever alter his relationship with not just Optimus, but all of Cybertron. Optimus Prime will have to step up, take command of his allies and show Sentinel that he's ready to lead the Cybertronians as a true Prime. The war between the Autobots and Decepticons begins with deception and betrayal.

K, so from there the story would go on to introduce everyone's favorite key players from all three films. One thing I managed to do was take elements from all three plots of all three films, and work them together in the prequel. You know how it seems so coincidental that each movie seems to have a plot in place that feels like it was planned out? Like the Transformers had actually been on Earth a while. Well from freeing Megatron and retrieving the Cube from the first film, killing off Prime to free The Fallen to find the Matrix in the second one, to tricking the Autobots into reviving Sentinel and him trying to bring Cybertron near Earth with the Space Bridge. I found a way for it all to fit together nicely. Even the great coincidence of Sentinel Primes ship crash landing on Earth has meaning and is explained. The only problem, I was getting my shit together, and then they announced a fourth film. I'm afraid that film will retcon all the hard work I would put into my story. Basically I thought I came up with a story that would make for an excellent prequel, animated film at least. Or better graphic novel. But part four could ruin it. Or my writing will do that itself cause I'm not that awesome.

Blah blah blah...,you all complain yet yah still go see it 20X on 3DIMAX, buy the special edition 3D Box Set, order it on ppv, rent it on Redbox and never return it, order HBO to see it, DVR it on TNT only to say it sucks and how much Micheal Bay raped your childhood.

TicklerMan, what you just stated is an opinion. There is no fact that I will pay for this crap. I haven't paid anything to see a Transformers movie since the first one. You make yourself look silly coming to this thread making a statement like that.

He hasn't raped anyone's childhood per say, but he has raped the characters in which I watched and read about for so many years. If you don't have respect for the source that's fine, but there are those of us that do more then just watch television.

If you wanna go see the movies fine, but don't come in here with your off the wall BS.

Well you see, there needs to be a good reason Megatron would decide to challenge Sentinel Primes leadership. If you take the caste system like they did in the War for Cybertron books, and with the Well of Allsparks naming the Primes as their created. You have a lot of motivation for a character that wasn't special when he was created. Megatron might have been called something else when he emerged from the Well. But that wasn't enough. He had to make himself better. And he did. He changed his name, and rose through the ranks of the military. He had a camaraderie with Optimus. Even though he despised him. Cause no matter how hard Megatron strived to become better, Sentinel would always favor Optimus. Cause he was named Prime by the Allspark. Megatron would continue to challenge the elders on the caste system. But to no avail. Sentinel himself could see the flaws, Megatron was a great warrior, and he was willing to do whatever was necessary to get the job done, but who is he to challenge the will of the Dynasty of Primes through the Allspark. He could see Optimus' weakness, he cared too much for the little things, life in general was too precious to him. In short, Sentinel wasn't all that confident that Optimus could make the decisions he would have to. Sentinel knew he had to do whatever he could to prepare Optimus for the challenges ahead.

Without humans it wouldn't be live action. Unless they were to got to cybertron, but cybertron is gone.

Just change the director, then we can get that prequel or that War on Cybertron.

I really hated the second. I swear it was one of the worst sequels i've seen to a film.
