Fans of The Boys graphic novel were a bit sad to see that the show was seemingly going to omit covering the We Gotta Go Now arc from the original comic written by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, but it seems the X-Men parody was being saved for the upcoming spin-off show, Gen V.
In the comic, Hughie goes undercover with the G-Men to discover what's going on with the mysterious millionaire John Godolkin's band of misfits following the suicide of a team member. In typical Boys fashion, Hughie discovers that there's some really twisted stuff happening at the G-Mansion.
While the television spinoff seems to be taking a slightly different path, several of the comic's main overarching pot points seem to still be present.
Just like in the comic book, there definitely appears to be something sinister happening beneath the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting's idyllic surface.
However, the Amazon Prime comic book adaptation appears to be only loosely following the graphic novel so don't expect to lear the ins and outs of the show by reading Volume 4 of The Boys.
