THE BOYS Are Back In Town In First Red Band Season 3 Trailer

On the heels of the recent poster featuring a suped-up Billy Butcher, Prime Video has debuted the first teaser trailer for season 3 of The Boys, and it's most definitely not for the squeamish!

Daddy's home!

Prime Video has (finally) debuted the first trailer for the upcoming third season of The Boys, and it's about as bonkers as you'd expect.

The teaser begins by getting us up to speed with the main players, including the increasingly psychotic Homelander (Anthony Starr) and the now Compound V-powered Billy Butcher (Karl Urban). We also get a first look at new supe Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) in action.

Of course, it wouldn't be The Boys without a bit of sex and extreme violence, so put the kids out of the room and take a look.

Season 2 of The Boys ended with the death of Butcher's wife and the apparent disbanding of the team. We know they will reunite, however, most likely in attempt to bring down the increasingly psychotic Homelander. Queen Maeve was able to blackmail her rage-fuelled leader into backing off in the finale, but actor Anthony Starr has already confirmed that he will really let loose in Season 3.

It's also been confirmed that the highly controversial Herogasm comic book arc will be adapted, and showrunner Eric Kripke has hinted that the episode will be every bit as depraved as the comic.

Season 3 of The Boys is set to premiere on June 3.

Absolutely [frick]ing dead that they're parodying that Kendall Jenner Pepsi ad. And using A-Train, the token Black hero to do it. This show has [frick]ing balls lmao

I watched the first season during the initial COVID lockdowns and I really liked it. It's such a cynical, nightmarish, mean-spirited, but ultimately very smart take on the superhero concept. I need to catch up on Season 2 as well as the animated anthology before the new season.

I also can't wait for Invincible Season 2. Hopefully we get that next year.

@MovieMonster - S02 may not be as good as the first. But Anthony Starr was the star yet again. Dude is phenomenal.
S03 does look great from the looks of the trailer. Can't wait!

Was that a parody of the Star Spangled Man With a Plan USO sequence from Captain America I spied?

Please make up for season 2! My god it almost ruined this show for me but I’ll give it another chance.

@TheFireForce - Season 2 was good. I just think going from dropping it all with season 1 to going with weekly episode releases hurt it a bit. I hope they drop all of it for s3.

@UnderBelly - nah man it really wasn’t. The deep and A-trains stories were totally pointless, frenchie spent way too much time crying, the main guy didn’t grow at all as a character and is still pretty pathetic, and overall the narrative did nothing for characters who had a lack of screen time from the first season. Butcher and homelander were good at least.

@TheFireForce - Good points, but for me anyway when I watched it again closer to each other it was better. Let's see though.

@TheFireForce - Season 2 was just fine as it was and seeing Frenchie’s backstory was great.

I’m sure this season is going to be better though.

@TheLobster - I would call it boring over fine. It barely had anything memorable about it and Fenchie’s backstory is not an excuse to turn him from a fun badass into an crying over emotional character.

@UnderBelly - I don’t get what you mean. I didn’t watch this show until last fall so waiting for episodes would be annoying but wouldn’t take away from the show.

@TheFireForce - it’s called adding depth and layer to a character. Seeing Frenchie breakdown goes a long way - seeing him as a “fun badass” gets boring with no development. Also, anyone with a heart would cry over guilt if they felt they could have prevented kids being lit on fire and dying so I wouldn’t label him “over emotional” at all

@TheLobster - after 1 season? Yeah okay kid…

@TheFireForce - what’s your argument? That this was done too early? Genuinely asking cause I don’t see how that matters in the slightest.

On top of that, it’s heavily teased at when you first meet Frenchie. MM literally says he doesn’t want to work with him after the events that they finally show in Season Two. I can understand some critiques of Season 2 (I personally wish Lamplighter stuck around for much longer) but Frenchie’s backstory is one of the strongest aspects of the second season in my eyes.

@TheLobster - it was boring and didn’t matter. He had a friend who overdosed and were supposed to be like “oh no” and feel bad for a man who kills people using his rather unique skills. They turned him into a sad whiny man who is chasing kimiko the whole time. Sorry but it just doesn’t work

@TheFireForce - Fair enough. I saw it different.

Just when I thought Homelander couldn't get any more depraved, he feels sexual arousal while milking a cow. xD
