UPDATE: Warner Bros. has clarified that Ackles was actually referring to the Long Halloween movies, and not an upcoming project.
Jensen Ackles has revealed that he's set to reprise the role of Batman for an upcoming DC animated project.
The Supernatural alum, who can currently be seen scorching the Earth as Soldier Boy in the third season of Prime Video's The Boys, played The Dark Knight in Batman: The Long Halloween Parts 1 and 2, and told Late Night host Seth Myers that he'll once again be lending his voice to the iconic hero during an appearance on his show.
"Yep. In fact, I just spent about three and a half hours in the studio yesterday doing, uh, doing Batman," He confirmed after being asked about his previous gig as the voice of the Red Hood. "That was a big deal. I don't want to drop that ball."
Back in January, Ackles told former Smallville costar Michael Rosenbaum that he was working on a new DC-based project, but didn't want to spill any details in case it fell through.
"There is a DC property that I'm currently developing right now with Warner Bros. and some other good partners that I've got my fingers crossed for," he said at the time. "But, again, I'm not going to talk about it because I don't want to jinx it."
Could this mysterious animated project be the properly Ackles was referring to? It's entirely possible, but there's always a chance he's working on another - potentially live-action - movie or TV show for the studio.
