In an interview with SuperHeroHype, the director of the upcoming A-Team remake has talked more about Taskmaster - a movie adaptation that he's been rumoured to be involved with for years. As well as that, Carnahan expresses his interest in adapting Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's Vertigo comic book, Preacher!

On Making A Taskmaster Movie:

"Taskmaster was something we talked about, and I haven't discussed it with him (Alex Young, producer of The A-Team) for ages, but I would love to get back in. I love the idea of a guy with photographic reflexes, he can see something and repeat it, I thought that was such a cool idea. I think it might be one of those Marvel characters you really need to reimagine because he's got the whole skull and cape - it's a bit grandiose I think - but it would certainly be a cool thing."

"I think Taskmaster, he's so below the radar. He's even below where Blade was considered a B-tier Marvel character, this guy is even lesser-known. It would be a lot of fun to write it as a series and then see what came from there."

On His Interest In Adapting Preacher:

"I'm kind of desperate to do another comic book adaptation. And the other thing I'm really keen on or interested in is 'Preacher' because I'm a big Garth Ennis fan and I love that series and that's out there, and that might be something...I really love that. You gotta do the Allfather D'Aronique and all that crazy shit and I haven't seen a script and I don't know what it is, but yeah, we'll see. Who knows?"

The A-Team is due to be released on June 11!

Does Taskmaster have enough content and substance to warrant a full movie? I'd rather just see him in Deadpool.

I agree he should be the villian in Deadpool.

Hell no to him in DEADPOOL, FOX'll completely [frick] the character up! : D

At least with MARVEL STUDIOS, he'd be done half right!

(Could be cool in CAPTAIN AMERICA 2!)

I'm wondering how would they adapt Taskmaster's costume, cause the original one would look awful on the big screen.

Thales: I like this costume.

Taskmaster Pictures, Images and Photos

Simple, sleek, and bad ass.

I'd love to see Taskmaster in Deadpool, as I said already, as a competing merc with DP, or in a Moon Knight movie, but preferably Deadpool because, well, that one's furthest in development.

And as for who should play him, no idea, just as long as it isn't Shitham.

Well, I havent read Preacher but have heard nothing but good things about it so I'm all for some sort of adaptation of that, but I cant think of a character less deserving of his own movie than Taskmaster! He'd make an ok minor villain in Deadpool or something but he's just not interesting enough in personality or powers to justify spending 90 minutes of my time watching him. :P

Any time I hear about Taskmaster, the first thing that comes to mind is this:

Taskmaster has potential - but he's right in that he does need re-imagining from the ground up - everything from his personality to the silly skull mask and silly cape - and seriously - white speedos? They need to basically scrap pretty much everything about him except his powers.

That's why he's probably a good character for a film-maker - they have pretty much carte blanche to do whatever they want with him - less pressure, less expectation, more freedom...

I would like to see a Taskmaster movie.. maybe they can team him up with Deadpool or just make a Thunderbolts movie and he could be the leader..

And for the part of Taskmaster... everyone say it with me.. Jeffrey Donavan.. from brun notice..

Clint Eastwood as the Saint Of Killers would have my interest, especially if they revealed he was really the Man With No Name...Intro his character with a snippet of Leone....Yeah,I know,PIPEDREAM! LOL Though Clint hasn't ruled out doing an action movie in the future...I'd be all in if this was to happen....

magic8-- Aaaaaaa! Never say that!

KeithM-- If this happened they would make him mix between a super-spy, ala Bourne Identity, and a little master of disguise.

AgentX Taskmaster would rule. The Taskmaster mini series released near that time was awesome.

Whoa whoa whoa, you guys who don't think a Taskmaster movie would be cool need to think again. Not only could it have ridiculously awesome fight scenes, but it could be hilarious. Remember that one of the main things Taskmaster does is train henchmen and other super villains. Lots of comic incompetence and mass casualty humor potential there. The sarcastic/manic/frustrated/gun-hoe Taskmaster from the Initiative would be great. I also love that Taskmaster is one of the few villains that seems to be smart enough to run from a fight. With the right director behind it this movie it could be all kinds of awesome.

Monica Dawson, Micha's cousin, in Heroes season 2 was basically Taskmaster.

Look how radically different she is to the Marvel version though.

There are so many possibilites for that "power set", to quote a cliche, "they're limited only by their imaginations."

As ME1 said, couple that with the idea of him as a super-villain/henchmen "tutor", then it could be interesting.

Not the worst idea I've heard recently, that's for sure. :)

I always thought Taskmaster was an underutilized character with great potential...could be as good as Punisher or MoonKnight with the right writers and story...
