D.J. Caruso says he wants Chris Pine (who played Captain Kirk in Star Trek) for Jesse Custer, also Arseface for Shia LaBeouf and Alex Pettyfer playing the Saint of Killers. The Preacher casting as yet, is nothing but talk and nothings official, but fingers crossed.

I do not like Pettyfer *aka Pufferfish*. He beat up my favorite creepy basterd *aka Sebastian stan*. That right there makes me against him because nobody but me and Frecks can beat up on Stan. ;)

oh and Pine is hot ;)

wow pine wasn't some one I ever imagined as Jesse, could work and I am pretty sure no ones going to be against Shia being arseface, I always though saint of killers was old guy can't see pettyfyer doing the role unless they hire the make up team from benjamin button

This is a joke I take it? Pine, maybe. La Bouf might work as Arseface in a jokey sort of "look who I cast as Arseface" sort of way. If that plank Pettyfer comes anywhere near this I murder Caruso.

I thought for a second "hey, maybe Pine could pull off Jesse." Then I thought about it and realized that nobody can pull off the complexity of these characters. This is going to be a shitty version of the comics.

Well, I've lost all hope in this film...simply awful cast if this is true.

@Alex- That's a far better cast! Never thought of Fassbender as Cassidy but that's great casting. My only differenct preferences would be Katee Sackhoff as Tulip and Viggo Mortensen as Starr.

alex i like ur choices.
james franco could pull off jesse but Caruso saying chris pine for jesse should be a crime, he doesnt suit the character at all. not sure about elizabeth banks for tulip though, but she is good and dj caruso seems like he wants to populate the cast with pretty boys and girls and not actually hire actors.
this is getting me too worked up, i'd rather they not touch it and just leave it as it is an amazing graphic novel there's no way they can translate the complexities of preacher into a movie without completely missing the point

I can't see that twelve year old blonde girl playing the cruelest bastard in all of creation. I personally would like to see Sam Elliot as the Saint of Killers. I think Sean Patrick Flannery would be a spot on choice for Cassidy and probably the strangest choice of Herr Starr, Ben Kingsley all the way.
