While chatting to MTV about Transformers: DOTM, LaBeouf admitted that he loves the Preacher comic by Garth Ennis and would be all for playing the horrifically scarred character, Arseface..

You may remember a while back newly signed Preacher director D.J. Caruso name dropped Shia LaBeouf as the actor he would most like to play Arseface, the troubled teen who tries to kill himself with a shotgun but ends up leaving his face looking like, well, an arse. While chatting to MTV LaBeouf expresses interest in the role, and also reveals that he has seen a few pages of the work in progress script..



"I love the ['Preacher'] comics, I think Arseface would be awesome."

"I'm still a hired gun, I don't know what I'm going to do next."

"He's(screen writer John August) got a couple of pages he sent, but no full script yet,"


Well Preacher fans, what would you think of LaBeouf as Arseface? I would be ok with it myself. It's not a huge role and he would be unrecognizable anyway. I am more concerned about Caruso claiming that he wants I Am Number 4's Alex Pettyfer as The Saint of Killers. That part had to be a joke. Right?

Shia was the only good live action actor in the first 2 Transformers movies.

He can be pretty good, the hate is a bit silly. People just think he;s a bit annoying which I get. But with the right role who knows.

Someone tell me a movie outside of Transformers and Indian Jones: KotCS that he has been in that shows off his acting ability. I will see it and pass judgement fairly then.

I may be reading into what he is saying but it sounds like Hollywood isn't knocking at his door with too many other scripts right now.

Watch Constantine, Eagle Eye or Disturbia. In every movie, he plays the same character. Himself.

Distubia and eagle eye especially were fantastic movies, annoying as he is, the movies would of still sucked if he did. As for acting as him self everytime I agree but so many actors do that.

I've been following him since he was cast in the Battle of Shaker Heights, so I'm hopeful for his career -- I'm honestly a little confused by all of the hatred for him. I don't think he's a *bad* actor, but I'll agree with what's been said before: all of his roles are essentially the same.

I honestly feel this role would suit him though.
