In a surprise for fans of The Walking Dead, AMC has released a sneak peek of the latest installment in the franchise, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, featuring Norman Reedus reprising his iconic role. The footage debuted during the recent episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City, increasing the anticipation for the spin-off that's slated to premiere this fall on both AMC and AMC+.

AMC has also released several photos to go along with the viceo sneak peek. Make sure and check them all out below!

In the upcoming series, viewers follow Norman Reedus's Daryl Dixon as he finds himself washed ashore in France. Struggling to unravel the mystery of how he landed there and his purpose, Daryl embarks on a journey across a ravaged but resilient France, in hopes of finding his way home. However, the relationships he cultivates throughout his journey introduce complications to his ultimate goal.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon brings together an ensemble cast including Clémence Poésy, Adam Nagaitis, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi, and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi. It is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, showrunner David Zabel, Reedus, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath, and Daniel Percival.

The sneak peek includes a two-minute clip where Daryl embarks on a treacherous trek from the port city of Marseille to Paris. The mysterious journey has been hinted at being tied to a revelation from the post-credits scene of "The Walking Dead: World Beyond" season 2, where it was disclosed that the virus causing the zombie outbreak was created in France by a group known as the Primrose Team.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is the fifth spin-off, and the sixth show overall, in the universe of The Walking Dead, which was created by Robert Kirman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The first season will be comprised of six episodes, with David Zabel writing the first and co-writing the second episode alongside Jason Richman.

Reedus has promised a journey "longer and even harder and weirder than you would think", adding that Daryl Dixon's world is now "bigger, deeper, and just as heavy, if not heavier".

There are six shows in this universe now? Holy cow. I guess somebody has to be watching if they are making so much Walkikg Dead content.

@mountainman - guilty as charged ✋🏾

But let me tell you, people felt like the walking dead main show fell off hard. But that show is nothing like what happened to fear the walking dead.
Dead city is ok. It's riding off the back of charismatic Negan
I feel Daryl Dixon will be the best one

@Vigor - If you like it then I’m glad you get more content you enjoy. Fell off the main series the season after Negan came on. Watched a few episodes of Fear then dropped it and haven’t seen anything else. I think I’m just over zombies.

Although I did give Shawn of the Dead a rewatch last week and that movie still holds up. Probably the best depiction of the outbreak starting of anything I’ve seen.

@mountainman - I feel like Shaun of the Dead still doesn't get enough love from the general public for the zombie aspect and more focused on the humor. It is funny as heck but it's also just a damn good zombie flick.

I still want a proper World War Z adaptation anthology limited series. The outbreak stuff was some of the best parts of the book, especially with how other countries tried to handle it.

@DanielPlainviewsGhost - I wasn’t a huge fan of the movie but i may check that book out. Books tend to describe things better.

@mountainman - WAY different compared to the movie, completely different beast.

The book is a recount of a worldwide zombie apocalypse done through interviews conducted by a journalist post apocalypse. From regular citizens to world leaders. Definitely worth checking out.

OT:

Heard Driver and Robbie are both out on F4. Saw this on Twitter but I’ve heard for a couple weeks there’s been some shakeups.

@regularmovieguy - Back end shake ups could be concerning but I was never in love with either of their castings so this wouldn’t upset me 🤷‍♂️

A little late for this but Daryl is their best character so who knows if this will be good.
I just want to see Norman Reedus play Jonny Blaze or Logan in the MCU.
