On the finale of season one:

"If anything, if I were to criticize the first season at all—which I think went great—I would say, I wish we had killed more people," said Kirkman.

On whether Michael Rooker will return for season two:

"We will definitely see Michael Rooker again. We probably won’t see every little piece of him. There’s all kinds of cool stuff we can do. I definitely want to see Morgan and Duane come back at some point and find out what happened to them. There’s lots of little threads in there to keep people interested for next season," said Kirkman.

On Norman Reedus(Daryl):

"...I’m totally jealous of how bad-ass that guy is. He literally is my favorite character in the show. He’s not my favorite actor on the show. [Laughs] But he is my favorite character."

On whether the crew may go to France in season two:

"A couple of seasons ago you probably didn’t think the bikers from Sons of Anarchy were going to go to Ireland. But that happened. Who knows, man?"

On the progression so far on Season two:

"There’s been a little bit of behind the scenes stuff going on between the producers on the show and AMC, just figuring out when we’re going to get started and how we are going to do things and what our overall plan for season two is. That kind of stuff has been going on. But I don’t think any actual heavy work will be happening until after Christmas," said Kirkman.

The Walking Dead season two has no official start date but is rumored to air in October of next year with possibly another Halloween night premiere.

Yeah i do not like that kid as Carl. Love the show, gotta say i understand trying to bring some type of closure to the series in case it never got picked up for a second season, but i was really bummed out by the whole CDC story deviation. To just spill it like that and essentially tell the characters there's no hope and that the rest of the planet is gone too, pretty much negates the whole prison story arc and the community beyond that. Where's the tension if everyone has given up any type of hope? I mean even as a viewer its gonna be kinda boring knowing there may be no resolve. Or maybe the CDC guy was just misinformed. Also concerned the show wont last as long as we'd like and Darabont's trying to get the ending outta Kirkman for the show... that would ruin the last seven years of the comics for me if they spilled it like that in the show. Kirkman seems like he'd just throw something different at them anyway, keep the real ending for himself... nevermind just reassured myself outloud. :p

What a great show! What an even better comic! There is no way to expect a TV production to accurately mimic every frame of the comic,so I've been pleased just to see the director follow the source matterial as close as he has. This is a triumph for comicbook-inspired entertainment on TV.

I enjoyed season 1 a lot and just started reading the comic. Good stuff. Can't wait for season 2. :)

The show is shite. Not because it deviated from the comic but because it is total shite. I'm only reading the comic from now on so it doesn't get spoilt. yeah spoilt.

I'm a HUGE fan of the comics and I'm really liking the show a lot. I do not like the CDC story arc as I felt it ruined the spirit of the source material.

There have been some serious deviations from the comic book, though. By and large, they haven't wiped their asses with it yet. If Shane makes it farther than two episodes into the new season, they will have, however.

I hope no further serious deviations occur and I hope they get it back on track with the comic storyline soon.

And my guess about Merle?

----THE GOVERNOR

Sure it would be uprooting the Governor's character origin, but it makes sense, especially considering what the Governor does to Rick. It would be rather poetic for Merle to be that guy.

The acting in this show is absolutely terrible. Just horrible. I expected FAR more from AMC. The zombies are amazing, they nailed that, but everything else is crap. I have never yelled at the TV more in my life than watching this show. And it's not edge of your seat stuff, it's plain stupid, not following the rules of the world they created stuff. Like not assuming every dead body they see could be a zombie, not being nearly as scared as they should be, etc. They are all way too cavalier to be existing in a world where the dead walk the Earth eating people. Stuff like that. Just poorly executed and not nearly as intelligent as it ought to be. It would have been WAY better on HBO. The zombies themselves are absolutely amazing, though. But I can't stand that main character. I feel nothing and couldn't care less if he died.

I'm sorry but have I been reading the same comics as everyone else? Because I LOVE the comics and am NOT happy with the direction this tv series is taking. When Kirkman said if he could've changed anything about the 1st season he would've killed more people...I can agree with that statement because I was hoping by the end of the first season they would've killed off all the unnecessary "extra" characters! The great thing about this comic was the depth, the feelings you had for these people, the devastation you felt when one of them died, because the comics allowed you to KNOW these people. The series is not. I am not okay with major plot changes. I was excited about this series because I wanted to see what I had become more realistic. If the comic wasn't boring, why would the series be? Would people be okay with Batman if Nolan had completely changed his character because he thought it would sell better? How many people are unhappy with Green Lantern because his suit doesn't look EXACTLY as it did in the comic? Well wouldn't it be BORING if the Green Lantern was true to comic book form? No it would not. Just like the Walking Dead would be amazing just as it was written. Kirkman...stand behind your vision and quit selling out. People obviously loved what you did, don't [frick] with it!
