TV Guide has gotten a scoop from Robert Kirkman on the second season of AMC's series The Walking Dead. Kirkman reveals that Andrea, played by Laurie Holden, will have a stronger presence in the second season by taking her pain and turning it motivation to become one of the protectors of the group such as she did in the comics.

Said Kirkman:

"Andrea very much wanted to die in the CDC, so we're going to be dealing with that. She'll be learning some guns, and she might not quite get to a certain level, but we are definitely going to be going down that road."

The Walking Dead will resume later this year.

As long as Carl kills Shane before he's too old to have the same impact I'm cool with whatever they do... Vivica A. Fox for michonne!!!! I think that every time I watch kill bill!!!

@grif

Thats exactly what she is in the comics though. She IS a badass. Well...not Michelle Rodriguez type, but she's an awesome sniper.

She's a badass in the comics, but not an in your face "I roll with the men" type. She does what she has to do, just like everyone else. She just happens to be a better shot than the rest. Now, Michonne on the other hand... lol.

@merc-I totally agree about Gina Torres for michonne, but it's to early for her character. Tyrese or Hershel and family would be cool.

She is my favorite character in the comics so they'd better not kill her off is all I care about. I haven't read past issue 70-something, when the horde shows up at the walls of that new community they find in DC, still don't know what happens there.

@Rodimus. I agree. But when they do decide to introduce her character, she has to be a candidate.

She's definitely one of the coolest characters in the comics, and can't wait to see her become a badass on tv.

If Shane is still alive past his time, then why not bring Michonne in before hers? Seriously, that alone would get TONS of viewers. She's an awesome, likable character. Her presence in the comics gave an energy to the group.

@Tommy- I agree, but there's no emotional angle there without the tyrese and carol relationshit. I think they make this show more for the emotional angles than for zombies and blood.

I think meeting hershel and his family should come next. Most of them die anyways, so it's not like they'd have to hire known actors.

@Tommy you cant just throw her in outta nowhere. think about how cool its gonna be when shes walking up to the prison with two zombies leashed to her just mercing any thing that gets to close. it would suck if they skipped that just for the sake of getting her in there and it would make them lose viewers who are also fans of the comic.
