SPOILERS: THE WALKING DEAD Season 8 Finale Brought An End To Rick And Negan's Conflict - But Did It Deliver?

The Walking Dead season 8 finale just finished up, and although it did give us a conclusion to the current arc, it wasn't necessarily a satisfactory one. Find out how it went down, but beware of SPOILERS.

The season 8 finale of The Walking Dead just aired on AMC, and despite staying true to the source material (for the most part), many seem to be more than a little underwhelmed by the outcome.

As promised, Rick and Negan did have their final showdown, and, just like the comics, Rick pretended to honor Carl's dying wish that his people and The Saviors move forward in peace before slitting his enemy's throat while he considered it. After having Siddiq "save" Negan, Rick informed the rest of The Saviors that they'd all be joining forces in an attempt to make a better world for everyone.

There were a few loose ends to take us into season 9, but ultimately, this brings an end to the "All-Out War" arc that began almost two seasons earlier, and it concluded on a relatively hopeful note (at least, for this show) with no major character deaths.

Many fans on social media have been expressing their disappointment with the finale and the season overall, but what do you guys think? Has The Walking Dead officially "jumped the shark", or are people being too hard on it? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.

I get Maggie being pissed at Rick and michonne and that it was actually interesting that she is planning on setting them up but Darly being apart of it was stupid and like mist things in this show made no sense. I really hope season 9 delivers and 8 think the final left them in a good place to do a timeskip and a soft restart for the show.

It was terrible. It was thirty minutes of WTF moments with forty minutes of commercials. There were more commercials than there was resolution.

So it followed the comics? Then the fans don't really have anything to whine about.

Personally I wished Negan had died, can't stand him and also found it ridiculous like in the comics that he survives a clean slice to the throat. If you ask me Kirkman became too comfortable by letting Negan live after all he did, even more here in the tv show.

I didn't think it was that bad. It followed the comics, and there were a few great moments. As for it not making sense.. umm, how? It made perfect sense from a character standpoint.

So Maggie will be the "NEw Governor" and DAryl will be her #2 - Just like what Glenn had pictured in their futures. This is one of the worst moves in TWD franchise " Oh, let's take those famous characters and turn thens into villains".
And also, WTF Jesus? He's so "Let's not kill" and now he's part of a riot?

Worst parts
-Constant attention to Morgan acting the same way he has all season until finally decides to once again flip flop his over the top mentality
-Oceanside and their clique timing
-Eugene's plan vs Negan spoiled by editing
-Maggie's mutiny and how it will inevitably be another story line in the show about characters being stubborn jackasses for entire seasons.

Best parts
-Rick
-Negan

God...please let that horde be full of Whisperers....and those pikes be a reference to a great event from the comics. Maria Bello has begged to play Alpha.. make it be.

I personally think Fear the Walking Dead was better tonight. Looking forward to when the original FTWD cast get back in the spotlight and with how that episode ended they will play a big part in the next episode.

I didn't watch it. Have lost all interest in TWD. Used to be my favorite show hands-down.
