AMC released a five minute sneak peak at the first episode of The Walking Dead, which premieres Halloween night at 10pm. This is most likely not the exact first 5 minutes seeing is how the video is only 4:44 but probably takes place very early on it the show. I would guess within the first 10-15 min.

You know the plot device of waking up to the Dead has been used alot. After having read “World War Z,” I think I like the way Brooks did it with a slow build better. Setting things up where the epidemic begins to spread in full view of the public, but it seems like something that can be handled. In doing that the panic was all the more striking because when the contagion finally truly becomes an outbreak you really sympathize with these folks that thought everything was going to be okay. When "the Great Panic" starts and for all the US's ability to fight comes up lacking and the whole east coast and Midwest fall to the Zombies its a real killer seeing the fall of humanity over the course of a few months. Anyone who likes Zombie Fiction needs to read “World War Z” if you haven't already. Awesome, awesome book.
