Acording to Bryan Cranston the star of the hit AMC show Breaking Bad, which is ready to return this summer, has let it slip that another AMC hit, The Walking Dead will also make a return to the silver screen this July:

"It was a decision from AMC that they wanted to position us in July... They want to attract as many eyeballs as possible, away from the heavy competition of the September, November [or] January start."

"I believe they're going to put Walking Dead in July as well,"

said Cranston to New York Magazine.

This news is not official so there could still be a chance the show will not return until October as previously expected.

Gaston @ Better July than October as previously reported!

I cannot wait for Breaking Bad to come back, last season's finale was such a cliffhanger...I was so pissed when I found out I had to wait until July for Breaking Bad.

Have they said if this season of Walking Dead will be extended? I certainly hope we'll get more than 6 episodes this time around. I'm wishing for 20+, but would settle for 12-14.

they are going to extend the season but I think they said 12 episodes, i would love for this to be true but this was released back last month and there was nothing that backed it up. So i think we are still going to have to wait till Oct.

This doesn't sound too likely.Cable shows film their entire season before it goes to air.The Walking Dead hasn't started shooting season 2 as far as I know and isn't scheduled to start until next month.I don't think they would have filmed 13 episodes by July.

Not every show films their season before it airs. Its not financially sound to do it. You wouldn't film 13 episodes of a show if after 2 episodes its a bomb and the cable channel cancels it. Then you would have 11 episodes paid for that wont ever air and the channel is out all that money. I know when Fox was filming 24, it was maybe a month difference. I know The Office filmed their Christmas episode the end of October/early November for a December airing.

Doesn't AMC worry about having two shows about Meth Zombies running at the same time?
