Walking Dead Gets a Writing Staff in Season Two

At the end of The Walking Dead's first season, it was announced that the writing staff was let go and the plan for season two was for executive producer Frank Darabont to use freelancers for the series. Now that decision has been reversed.

Deadline is reporting that Glen Mazzara, formerly of The Shield, Crash and Hawthorne, has come aboard as the number two on The Walking Dead right behind Darabont. He is currently in the midst of putting together a writing staff of about five writers.

No reason was given for the shift. The Walking Dead's second year will consist of 13 episodes, whereas season one had six.

Sad they need a writing staff when the should be using more of the source material, the first season was great a zombie show but just terrible as an adaptation of the comics, read the comics people, there 100 times more enjoyable
