The CW announced today that both Wentworth Miller and Neal McDonough will reprise their roles as Captain Cold and Damien Darhk, respectively, on the upcoming third season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Miller will actually return in a recurring capacity, but he won't exactly be the Leonard Snart we came to know and love in seasons one and two. He'll instead be playing a brand new version of fan-favorite character, which should lead to some interesting interactions between him and Mick. During the panel, executive producer Phil Klemmer teased, “Mick Rory needs his pal, but unfortunately he’s not going to get the version of his pal that he remembers.”

Meanwhile, McDonough will be upped to a series regular and will also come with his own, more dangerous, changes. "We’ll be meeting a new version of Damien Darhk, a little less silly, a little more formidable." Arthur Darvill will also be back as Rip Hunter, but in a recurring role, and it sounds like he'll be coming into conflict with his former teammates. “Last season, the Legends were the only game in town,” Klemmer said. “Now they’re competing with the best and brightest. Rip Hunter has reconstituted what the Time Masters were, so the existential question for the Legends is where do we fit into this universe?

As for new additions, a new villain will arise in the form of Kuasa, Vixen's granddaughter. Tala Ashe will also join the Waverider crew as Zari Adrianna Tomaz, a Muslim-American woman from 2030.

Check out the official season three trailer below:

After the defeat of the immortal villain Vandal Savage and the corrupt Time Masters who colluded with him, a new threat emerges. Dr. Nate Heywood, an unconventional and charming historian, is thrust into the action upon making a shocking discovery – the Legends are scattered throughout time.

Nate must find a way to rescue season one’s beloved team of heroes and rogues, including billionaire inventor Ray Palmer, who has created an exo-suit with the power to shrink him to miniscule size, as the Atom; Sara Lance, the White Canary, a trained assassin; Professor Martin Stein and Jefferson “Jax” Jackson, who together form the meta-human Firestorm; and Mick Rory, aka Heat Wave, a career criminal. When the Legends encounter the J.S.A in the 1940s, Amaya Jiwe, aka Vixen, joins the team. While the team reunites, a mystery looms – the fate of former captain Rip Hunter.

Legends Of Tomorrow features:
Brandon Routh as Dr. Ray Palmer/The Atom
Victor Garber as Professor Martin Stein/Firestorm
Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary
Arthur Darvil as Captain Rip Hunter
Franz Drameh as Jefferson "Jax" Jackson/Firestorm
Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave
Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Amaya Jiwe/Vixen
Nick Zano as Dr. Nate Heywood/Citizen Steel
Matt Letscher as Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash
Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold
John Barrowman as Malcolm Merlyn/Dark Archer
Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk

@FishyZombie - That does look like B'wana Beast and hopefully it is, because getting to see him use his powers would be cool to watch.

@FishyZombie - would be cool to see that, but its probably just an easter egg, if it was really him they would probably change the costume a bit to make it look better in live action

Vixen in a cage built specifically to hold animals. Vixen becomes a bear[?] and smashes the door open. Yup. Show still makes zero sense. I thought they were changing the Legends every season? So much for that idea.

Hopefully they won't kill off Captain Cold again and at the end have him rejoin the team.

Legends is sort of my guilty pleasure show. Season two was just pure fun. The WWI episode with JRR Tolkien was hillarious. The last line here with Victor Garber is a nice homage to him playing Thomas Andrews (the guy who built the Titanic) in the film Titanic.

I think this is a perfect example of a tv show that knows exactly what it is, and just a bunch of actors having fun together

Flarrowverse's Captain Cold is hands down one of it's best assets. Wentworth Miller nails the character. Glad to see he's coming back.

Enough with Damien Darhk. I was sick of him on Arrow and hated him on this show. Tired of these lazy ass writers with no imagination. There are literally 1000s of DC characters you can choose from.

Nice trailer. I didn't know before of this character known as B'wana Beast so thank you Legends for introducing him!

A new version of Snart that isn't dead nor from another timeline is interesting. Also as another new and more dangerous and scarier Darhk.

The anachronisms arc has IMO the most potential of all LoT's Seasons so far.
