LUCIFER: Lauren German Will Team With The Devil As Female Lead In The Fox Series

Chicago Fire actress Lauren German will play an LAPD detective named Chloe Dancer in Fox's Lucifer pilot. This character appears to have been created just for the show.

As Fox's Lucifer adaptation drifts further and further away from its source material, Lauren German (Hostel: Part 2, The Divide) has joined the cast as Chloe Dancer. Deadline describe the character as an "LAPD homicide detective who finds herself both repulsed and fascinated by Lucifer. As they work together to solve a murder, Lucifer is struck by Chloe’s inherent goodness. Used to dealing with the absolute worst of humanity, Lucifer begins to wonder if there’s hope yet." The pilot will be directed by Len Wiseman (the Total Recall remake, Underworld), who will also executive produce along with Tom Kapinos, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman.

The original logline for the show was pretty similar to the comic series, and had Lucifer growing tired with his infernal responsibilities and relocating to LA where he opened an exclusive piano bar called Lux. Now it seems it's "undergone an evolution toward a police procedural", with the character getting his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals. Tom Ellis will play the titular Fallen Angel, along with Lina Esco as Maze/Makikeen.

@Doopie -The only reason he helps the police because procedureal shows are cheaper to make than full-blown Supernatural Demon intrigues.

They got the most beautiful girl they could find to distract fanboys from the fact that Lucifer has no need for police officers to take care of his business. He's one of the most powerful DC characters. I can't think of a reason why this is a good idea, or why the creative geniuses behind this think they know better than Carey & Gross about writing...

Remind me how constantine is doing again?
