Netflix saved Lucifer following its cancelation, and a sixth season happening now looks more likely than ever. Series star Tom Ellis has signed a new contract which, according to TV Line, covers another run of episodes of the Vertigo Comics series.

Last month, there were reports that Warner Bros. Television and Netflix had started meeting to discuss keeping Lucifer alive on the streaming platform, and Ellis's contract extension covers that potential season six. This news also comes just a few days after Lucifer co-showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson were said to have penned new deals to return to the popular supernatural drama.

Ellis was the only hold out when it came to signing a deal which would cover another season, but Netflix seems to be aware of how much Lucifans want more stories set in this world.

Lucifer premiered on Fox in 2016 and ran for three seasons before being axed. Netflix brought the show back to life before renewing it for a fifth and "final" season which arrives on Netflix later this year and will be split into two parts.

It seems with capeshits the contracts have more to do with playing the character than where that character shows up, and considering Ellis' cameo during Crisis you could probably just as easily blindly speculate that he'll be showing up on the CW shows.

This show has a lot of story left to tell.. just wish they would go a touch more adult.. just a pinch .. it’s Netflix after all.. just seems it would suit the character and tone of the show better..

And pls name drop some other ppl.. or better yet have a cameo or two

@MuadDib - I’d like an episode or two involving John Constantine personally. I rather like Matt Ryan’s portrayal of the character.
