Wally West, AKA Kid Flash, has been missing from The Flash since Season 4 for several reasons. The actor had other aspirations at the time, and it's also worth noting that Wally served a tour on the ship with the Legends of Tomorrow, so he hasn't been inactive.

That experience will no doubt be beneficial for Wally when he returns to action, and Showrunner Eric Wallace suggests that the character is going to have to step up and out of his mentor's shadow to be the hero he always believed he could be.

"If all goes well, I’m trying my best to… get Kid Flash in for a couple [of episodes] because the story’s so good… Kid Flash will now meet a classic villain from the classic days from classic comic books. And maybe he’ll have to save the Flash’s behind, which is what I want to see, because maybe he’s not a kid anymore. It’s time to grow up."

It's going to be interesting to see Wally play the role of leader after his time with the Legends, and wherever else he has been during his absence. There are a number of villains from the comics that fans are still looking forward to seeing adapted to the screen, so there are many possibilities at hand.

Are you excited to see Wally back in action? Be sure to check out the trailer for the upcoming episode below, and if you haven't yet, be sure to view the Season 6 premiere on the CW app!

Faced with the news of his impending death, Barry’s (Grant Gustin) resiliency suffers as he struggles to fight fate. Meanwhile, Cecile’s (Danielle Nicolet) career as a D.A. conflicts with her identity when she crosses paths with a villainous meta-human.

The Flash will return with Season 6 Episode 2 'A Flash of Lightning' on October 15 on the CW, airing free on the CW app the following day.

I stopped watching this show mid-way through the Devoe storyline because everything was just so atrocious. Should I continue to stay away or dive back in?

@Dabs - Season 4 was terrible, and Season 5 was worse than terrible IMHO, but I still haven't given up on the show. I watched the premiere of Season 6 yesterday and liked it. Let's hope it gets better.

I want to see him go against his Reverse-Flash, a Wally vs Solomon battle would be great.
