Time travel has always been an important element of The Flash, and the second season finale pushed the limits by having Barry run back in time to save his mother from her death at the hands of the Reverse Flash. During a panel at MegaCon, actor Carlos Valdes (who plays Cisco Ramon/Vibe on the CW shows) was asked about how Barry's decision would affect the upcoming season.  “All I’m going to tell you is things are going to be different, way different. Not in a bad way; I think in a really exciting way, and it’s that difference that’s going to inform Barry’s trajectory throughout the season, and I think people are going to like it.”

Fans of the comics know that this particular decision by Barry leads to the 'Flashpoint' event, where by saving his mother, Barry creates an alternate timeline where he has no superpowers an the world is filled with twisted, alternate versions of the heroes he knows. When asked specifically is season 3 would be adapting Flashpoint, Valdes was coy, but offered a small tease. “I think there’s every chance of a Flashpoint paradox. Some people expressed reservation about that, like: 'Why are we going there?' And some people are all about it. I can say, without a doubt, wherever we go from here, it’s going to be unique and it’s going to be different. It’s going to honor the original chronology and the original lore while at the same time providing a new spin on it and I think it’s that spirit that’s allowed our shows to do as well as they do so I ask the fandom to have faith.”

Valdes went on to say that he's only heard the pitch for the first few episodes of the new season, as it is still quite early in the production phase. The Flash returns this October, though no date has been scheduled for the premiere. Do you want to see 'Flashpoint' adapted on the CW? Sound off below!

@Luminus - Lol I would assume it's people who want to see it adapted with the proper characters.

@MattBellissimo - It sounds like he's talking about some people who are involved with the show – the type of people who ask why Superman has to wear primary colors.

I know we're defiantly going to see citizen cold in some fashion what with cold biting the old bullet. Was anyone else taken a little off guard by his "apparent" affinity for Sara? I saw him going for vandals daughter

So will the movies EVER do this storyline? I wonder.

@ComicsBornAndBred - Maybe. At this point, I think the CW has to hurry to do anything before it gets nixed by WB.

@MattBellissimo - true. I agree. Which is kind of SAD. I mean it's like Flash is about tk dtaft basic training in the army, and they're trying to have THE BEST AND MOST WILD SUMMER OF THEIR LIFE before they have to begin training in the fall haha. Weird comparison but Memorial Day just passed so I got the military on the brain lol.

But, it's still so sad. They're playing this dangerous game where they hope they can do these famous stories, crossing their fingers that WB doesn't say "sorry, but not sorry."

I also think it helps that Flash still doesn't have a director. It's still in early development.

WB like shhhhhh haha

I still don't understand how this "FlashPoint Paradox" would work. Why? Well so far they established that the Barry we know is his second reality form. Where do I get this from? Reverse Flash himself said it. He went back in time to kill Barry but killed his mom instead...And who stop him from Killing Little Barry????...The First Reality Form of Barry Allen. Killing Barry's mom created a second reality where the Flash existed a few years earlier then his First reality due to Reverse Flash.
