THE FLASH Gets Some Backup In New Promo & Photos For Season 7, Episode 17: "Heart of the Matter, Part 1"

Next week, The Flash celebrates a major milestone as it hits 150 episodes, and it looks like it's going to be a jam-packed hour as both XS & Bart Allen arrive to help their parents with Godspeed!

Only two episodes remain before The Flash season seven comes to a close, and it looks like they're going out with a bang. Starting next Tuesday, the first half of an epic two-part finale will bring back a number of major guest stars, including Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) and Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp), and will also introduce Barry and Iris' son Bart (Jordan Fisher).

While both XS and Bart Allen appeared during the closing moments of last night's installment, it's unclear what's brought them to 2021, but it seems likely they'll have a key part to play in stopping the Godspeed War once and for all. As for how Garrick factors in, that's yet-to-be-determined.

The next instalment is also a major milestone as it marks the series' 150th episode, so expect plenty of other surprises as well.

Check out the promo for episode sixteen of The Flash season seven, titled "Heart of the Matter, Part 1," below:

Oh god.

I havent watched last nights episode yet, will do that later today, but Nora is the worst "main" character ever introduced into this show. I hope her presence is kept to a minimum, because her inclusion could very well make or break (probably the latter) the episode and the end of the season (not that it was a good season to begin with, the 2nd worst actually, but last weeks episode was probably the best of the season so far).

Loved having Diggle back! I'm stoked for his Superman and Lois appearance. I hope they make him a regular next season or give him a spin-off. He deserves it.

@bigdannymac - it'd be awesome if he goes green lantern to face off against superman.

I'm just glad they didn't try to rehash that oh-so-subtle pregnancy scene from last week.

I stood up and yelled "CHOKESLAM!" like a WCW announcer like an idiot, though. That was fun. Ultraviolet's death was pretty metal, but literally made last week's B plot a worthless time killer, so I'm bitter about that. I've seen fridgings with more heart than that.

The actor playing Bart made me really think he could be Barry's son. He feels like a mix of comic's Impulse combined with Gustin's Barry.

@Himura - Also, I have no idea if I missed this but how is Nora back? Is it because of Crisis? I dont remember ever explaining it on the show

@Himura - Naturally because of Crisis, thanks to Oliver's sacrifice. But things are different now (like with almost everything) since Barry never died in the Crisis trying to stop it and thus his future is different, he actually is there when Nora is born and seems to stick around her whole life, the result being that Nora is always aware of her powers, heritage and never resorts to a shady source for guidance such like Eobard.

The new element here is Bart of course.

Watched the episode. Its okay. The core Godspeed storyline is fine, and I liked the convo and then fight with Barry. Dig being back was very nice, really liked the Green Lantern teases.

I did not care at all about the Alegra/Ultraviolet storyline, cared even less that UV died. What a waste.

Nora... uggh, just as annoying as always. Not feeling so good about the final 2 episodes. Also, Barry always needs a pep talk. Like, damn dude.

Also, how would Nora and Impulse have made it back to the present traveling through the speed force, when Barry himself can't even make it?

And why did Nora say that Barry told her not to travel to the past; this version of Nora has never been on screen before, this is not the original Nora.

The Godspeed war arc keeps building nicely, I digged the reveal behind why the two sides are fighting each other. But it makes me wonder if this is all because the future self of August is too weakened he needs his younger self to be used a boost for his goals. That is the vibe I am getting.

I am expecting the reason why August Heart is suffering from amnesia to lead to bigger consequences. Same thing with the truth behind Kramer, it feels like stuff that will be continued to be addressed in S8.

Flash's chat with the Godspeed clone in the pipeline was a nice scene.

I wouldn't be surprised that Cisco keeps sending them handy tech like he did here with Diggle. And Chester nicknaming it "Time Trapper" was a nod to one of the main villains of the Legion of Super-Heroes so it was cool easter egg trivia.

"Worlds Await". At this point I am sure Diggle and his GL ring business will be featured quite a lot in next year's mini crossover in Flash's first 5 episodes. In any case it is leading to something noteworthy.

Already liking Jordan Fisher as Bart, he nailed in the ending Impulse's energetic behaviour.

@NinnesMBC - Also the most popular theory right now of what is going on with Iris is perhaps that she's already pregnant with them and having to carry two speedsters could be the reason why she phasing in and out of the timeline, but tbh I think it could be something else that connects to Barry's "nightmare" where Nora was warning him.

It's making the fandom theorize if she could end up in the 30th century like in the comics.

As for Allegra, she could use some words of comfort to deal with her sister's death. If not and depending what they do with August Heart, I could see her fighting against the temptation of getting revenge.

Finally: Now that Nora is not an only child, her lightning is just purple and Bart has the yellow one. Smart move.
