THE FLASH Has Reportedly Been Forced To Halt Production On Season 6 Due To Coronavirus Outbreak

A number of productions have been forced to shut down due to the spread of the Coronavirus, and now The Flash season six can be counted among them. What about the rest of The CW's shows? Here's the latest!

Earlier this week, it was quietly revealed that Riverdale had suspended production of its fourth season in Vancouver, Canada, after a "team member" was in contact with someone who later tested positive for Covid-19. Now, though, the impact is being felt even further than that as The Flash has also suspended production on season six as of today.

We don't have any details beyond that, but The 100 has also halted filming of its series finale.

Will other Warner Bros. TV shows be forced to do the same? Well, Supernatural is currently in production on its penultimate episode, and the plan was for that to wrap its series finale in early April. Supergirl, meanwhile, is currently shooting its season five finale, and Batwoman is expected to also wrap filming its current season in the first few weeks of April.

Vancouver is used as a filming location for countless TV shows and movies, so if the Coronavirus has hit the area, it could be disastrous for a long list of current and upcoming productions.

According to Deadline, The Flash unit manager Brent Crowell has announced this shutdown "until further notice," and it's effective from today. What this means for the rest of the season is hard to say, but this is probably just one of many upcoming delays for some of our favourite TV shows!

We'll keep you guys updated as we learn more.

dracula

@Battabing - they basically translate doctor’s hand writing from a prescription, input data in the computer, fill the prescription, compound drugs and a few other things

Damn I was hoping that because they are most likely in their last 2 episodes that maybe it would not affect them or they could finish in time. But I guess it is better to be safe than sorry.

Plus if Danielle Panabaker is still on set then it makes sense to put it on hold due to her pregnancy, which must be quite advance now. Melissa Benoist is as well but not as much as Panabaker, but it could still lead to a temporary halt.

@NinnesMBC - True, I didn't even consider Danielle's pregnancy. Her safety is the upmost importance...

We can continue the story later.
