'THE FLASH' Season 9 does not appear to be slowing with the amount of returning guests they have planned for the final season. According to showrunner Eric Wallace, who was happy to report this news himself, Teddy Sears will be returning as Zoom and John Wesley Shipp will be coming back as well in an unspecified role!

“It’s a reunion I’ve been hoping could happen for several seasons,” the EP adds, “and now I’m so excited that we were finally able to bring Teddy and incredible talents back into our Flash Family for our epic and emotional ninth season. So, get ready to be frightened again, Flash fans!”

Fans have been speculating about the return of the speed demon for years since we last saw him, and we came pretty close to having him come back last season when he was teased along with Godspeed to destroy Central City in a future date.

No plans of bringing Godspeed back to the show have been mentioned, but we know the damage Zoom is well capable of committing on his own, so it should be an absolute blast!

“Flash fans have loved John Wesley Shipp’s heroic and heartwarming portrayals on our show since its inception,” Wallace notes. “So, it’s a huge honor to have John back as part of our epic final season. This time, John’s lent his incredible talents to an incredibly emotional story — one that sheds new light on Barry Allen’s tragic past.”

Wallace does not specify whether or not Shipp will portray Jay Garrick or Henry Allen, but nonetheless, whichever character he will end up playing, he will be sure to give it his all!

I think he'll generic-ify the character like I think he's done to others.
