HBO have added Neil Marshall to their list of directors charged with bringing the second season of Game Of Thrones to life.

According to THR Marshall joins Alan Taylor, Alik Sakharov, David Petrarca and David Nutter as directors for the upcoming season. Marshall has previously directed Dog Soldiers, The Descent, Doomsday and Centurion so he will be well versed in gore and swordplay. I'm not a huge fan of the majority of his movies but still look forward to seeing what he can bring to the show.

The second season of the critically acclaimed series is currently shooting in Belfast, Croatia and Iceland. The show picked up it's first Emmy win for it's main title credits (which you can see above) and is up for best drama mat this coming Sunday's Primetime Emmy awards.

I really liked The Decent, but that's about it. Nor did I particularly hate any of his other movies, they all had their moments, but very uneven.

Centurion was really good. The CGI blood and its run time made it look weak. I've always wanted to watch Dog Soldiers. Apparently its really good...
