This weekend is shaping up to be one of historic proportions, with the highly-anticipated debut of Marvel's
Avengers: Endgame tomorrow night, and then the long-awaited Battle of Winterfell on
Game of Thrones this coming Sunday.
Both are expected to change the game for their respective properties, and are heavily rumored to feature a number of permanent character deaths that will leave fans all across the globe absolutely gutted - which is really a testament to the quality both Marvel and HBO have given us for the better part of this past decade.
HBO has only shared six promotional stills ahead of the episode, but they so give us quick looks at Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and his family defending their home. Will it ultimately be for naught? Tune in Sunday to find out.

"
The dead are already here." - Whether Dany (Emilia Clarke) was referring to the arrival of the Night King in Winterfell or if she meant the Army of the Dead had somehow infiltrated the Crypts remains to be seen, but regardless, the situation looks absolutely dire for our heroes.
Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Ser Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie), and the Winterfell army brace themselves for the Army of the Dead, and judging by their faces, nothing Jon Snow (Kit Harington) has told them could've prepared them for this battle.
Jon Snow (Kit Harington) looks devastated as he assesses the situation mid-battle and while the jury's still out on whether he makes it out of this one alive, this photo would seemingly suggest that his chances at survival are better than most, although that's hardly a guarantee.
Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) consults with Varys (Conleth Hill) in the Crypts. Where's no reason to believe their hiding spot will come under attack, the frequent mention of the Crypts in the last episode (and in this article) may or may not suggest there's going to be some action down low, which is definitely not good news for some of our favorite heroes.
Tyrion does have some battle experience, but the Army of the Dead is a very different beast. Plus, we've also seen Arya (Maisie Williams) running from something in the trailer, so could it be an undead version of someone she knows?
Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Arya (Maisie Williams) finally lay their eyes on the Army of the Dead and look absolutely terrified as the Night King and his forces lay waste to their ancestral home. There's a good chance both survive as they still have story to tell, but with the crypts possibly not being as safe as promised, there is also a decent probability that at least one Stark girl meets her end.
Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) has been focused on keeping Winterfell away from anyone's rule - including Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) - but she's helpless now with the arrival of the Night King and his Army of the Dead. She doesn't seem particularly happy in this photo, and it looks like she'll be among those hiding in the Crypts when the battle begins - although that may not be the wisest decision if rumors are to be believed.
In Season 7, Daenerys Targaryen has finally set sail for Westeros with her armies, dragons and new Hand of the Queen, Tyrion Lannister. Jon Snow has been named King in the North after defeating Ramsay Bolton in the Battle of the Bastards and returning Winterfell to House Stark. In King's Landing, Cersei Lannister has seized the Iron Throne by incinerating the High Sparrow, his followers and her rivals in the Sept of Baelor. But as old alliances fracture and new ones emerge, an army of dead men marches on the Wall, threatening to end the game of thrones forever.
Game of Thrones returns with a brand new episode April 21
