HOUSE OF THE DRAGON: True Colors Are Revealed In The New Preview For Episode 7, "Driftmark"

Following a ten-year time jump, things are really starting to heat up on House of the Dragon, especially with the King's death swiftly approaching and setting the stage for the Targaryen Civil War!

Ten years have passed since the last episode, and while a lot has changed, much has also remained the same, namely the hatred Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) and Alicent (Olivia Cooke) carry for one another as they await King Viserys' (Paddy Considine) imminent demise and plot their respective succession plans.

With Rhaenyra having just had her third child, we're only about twelve years away from the actual start of the Dance of the Dragons, which begins in 129 AC. So, we can probably expect a few more major time jumps before the season is over, especially now that Rhaenyra has left for Dragonstone.

We won't get into book spoilers, but we will say that Rhaenyra's time in Dragonstone will result in a major personal developments, although it will also ultimately lead to the beginning of the Targaryen Civil War.

It's unclear if next week's installment will jump forward in time too much, but the promo for the episode previews Alicent starting to make serious moves that finally reveal her true colors to everyone involved and possibly sees her come to blows with her former best friend.

Check out the new preview for episode seven, titled "Driftmark," below:

Season One features Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans, with Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes, and Savannah Steyn.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” tells the story of House Targaryen.

This f'ing show continues to rule. I hate to see interesting characters backstab each other and die, but goddman does it make for damn good television.

@Fares - Right?! Each week, I cant even decide who I am rooting for. It is sooooo good. Dare I say that season 1 of HOTD is shaping up to be better than season 1 of GOT?

@Shivermetimbers - Of course, HOTD has the lexury of running off the bat while GOT was required to walk in order the familiarize the audience with the world. But aside from that, I do not think that you're wrong in your estimation.

@Godzilla2000Zer - Loved watching him get his face pounded in. Was a little jarring with the introduction of the new simp though. Thought they could have set that up a little better.

Man, I know how this ends and 3 years in advance I know I'll be pissed. But if they deviated from the source material I'll be even more pissed.
