The 72nd annual Directors Guild of America Awards wrapped up last night, and it was a big night for HBO and Damon Lindelof's Watchmen, having been nominated for two of the five awards and taking home the big prize for its pilot episode, "It's Summer and We're Running out of Ice", directed by Nicole Kassell. It was also nominated for its sixth episode, "This Extraordinary Being", directed by Stephen Williams.

This marks a first for a show like Watchmen, and likely means good things for its chances at the upcoming Primetime Emmy Awards, where no Comic Book TV show has ever managed to get nominations in any of the major categories.

@ALegendaryPanda - Been a fan of Adepo since The Leftovers, and he impressed me in Fences and Overlord too. Dude was my top choice for John Stewart, so seeing him as HJ was awesome. Dude crushed it, hoping he gets a guest star Emmy nomination.
