Hayley Atwell Says She Would "Definitely" Like To Star In AGENT CARTER TV Series

The British actress and Captain America: The First Avenger star has commented on recent reports that Marvel are planning on bringing Agent Carter to the small screen, expressing her desire to star in the series. Atwell also confirms that she's shot scenes for Captain America: The Winter Soldier!

We've already seen what appeared to be [SPOILER ALERT] Hayley Atwell made up to look like an old woman [END SPOILERS] during principal photography of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but the actress has now confirmed that she has indeed shot new scenes for the highly anticipated sequel. "I went over earlier this year to Pittsburgh to film, so all the stuff is new footage." As for the recently reported plans for an Agent Carter TV series, Atwell had this to say about the chances of her reprising the role in that. "I read about that too. The one-shot was so successful, the fanbase were like, 'We want more of Peggy!'. I think Marvel probably take that very seriously, and it's certainly something I would be a part of doing. I'd be interested to show different sides of Peggy. I think she could be a great role model and a great member of the Marvel Universe. I love the Marvel lot, they're really great people to work with, so it would be nice to go back and work with them again. I'd definitely do it." So, it sounds like we should definitely expect to see Atwell return as Peggy if the series moves ahead! What do you guys think?

I would love to see a very young Coulson show up in the show in a small little cameo with his mom and dad. That would be cool.

I could see her leading a special team of the SHIELD with the Human Torch, Union Jack, Destroyer, Spitfire, Angel, the Howling Commando.
A sort of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen fighting against Hydra, nazis, Zodiac or supernatural beings.
The serie could even introduce Atlantis and Namor.

I'll be honest, I'd be willing to turn my head just so they could come up with some way to make her young again and bring her into the present with Cap.

The short was pretty good. I can't see it as a show though. Especially with SHIELD on. Now having an arc that bounces from past to present dealing with a threat that started in the past that's resurfacing now would work. You can bring in Stark and Dum Dum too.

There was also a factoid pic saying Peggy Carter mentored a young Coulson, which gave him his fanboy love for Cap. Having her show up as an elderly Peggy here or even a flashback with a young Coulson would work too.

She's way more interesting (and a better actor) than Coulson.
Peggy was great and we need to see more of her.
Period dramas are all the rage these days and combine that with an action series and we have a winner.

..or put some episodes of AoS at the time of Peggy Carter leading SHIELD. It would give more time to work on present day episodes and not rush them, and there would not be 2 series about SHIELD (which could be very boring if it happens).

I think a series around her would be interesting, but sadly a period piece of Agents of SHIELD, I think it would eitehr work as a one-off season about the character and creation of SHIELD

definitely a great idea. Now we get to see all those characters that are part of the history of Marvel - the ones that belong in that era but not the contemporary one.

I want to see this, she's a great actress. She should show up on AOS, the episode before Winter Soldier comes out. Coulson could be talking to her.

Yes she is absolutely hot! And she can act. She deserves a well supported & well written team to get behind a great show.

And that whole "timepiece storylines" would be a HIT!

I'm all for it. Not only is she eye candy but she was great in the part.

And I have to agree with Cherry - "more interesting (and a better actor) than Coulson." So far I've only seen the AoS pilot and I didn't care for it but I'll be watching a few more episodes to see if it gets better.

Introduce Luke Cage and Iron Fist in Agents of SHIELD and wait until they become popular reacquiring characters. Afterwards Spin off a Hero's for Hire TV series that takes inspiration from Angel. The forming of Angel Investigations in the show is similar to the premise of Heroes for Hire.

@Gusto ih AoS is cancelled it will be after a full season. The ratings will have to be so awful for that to happen.

I think it would be awesome for her to have her own show set in the 40s beforfe their was a S.H.I.E.L.D..
