Check Out The Full Synopsis For Marvel & Netflix's A.K.A. JESSICA JONES

Some spy pics from the set aside, it's been a while since we've had anything official from the second of Marvel's Netflix shows. But now a new synopsis has found its way online, and it gives us a much better idea of what we can expect when A.K.A. Jessica Jones hits our screens...

A brand new synopsis for A.K.A. Jessica Jones has been revealed thanks to an Amazon Listing for the series' companion book, which won't actually be released until November -- a month before the show is expected to première. As you can see it doesn't really provide anything new plot wise, but it does serve as a pretty detailed character bio for the titular hero, who'll be played by Breaking Bad's Krysten Ritter.

"Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need... especially if they're willing to cut her a check."

So nothing about any of the other characters (Luke Cage, Purple Man etc), but it sounds as if they're sticking pretty close to the Jessica Jones of Brian Michael Bendis' Alias comic at any rate. Hopefully this means our first official image from the show is just around the corner. A.K.A. Jessica Jones also stars David Tennant (Kilgrave), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Rachael Taylor (Patricia “Trish” Walker), and Carrie-Anne Moss.

This sounds interesting, but I'm curious why Purple Man isn't purple.

Not sure what to expect, with a different writing staff and showrunner(s), but I'll be there on day one.

Wouldn't be surprised if AKA J.J uses DD's formula and doesn't have Kilgrave turn purple until the last ep.

I really need to read Alias before this drops. I'm not familiar with her character at all but I love the actress so I'm all in. Especially after Seeing how good DareDevil was

That synopsis is pretty much Bendis's run of "Alias" in a nutshell. Of course being an adaptation there will be SOME changes like omitting Carol Danvers and the Avengers from the story. But in terms of the core story and Jessica Jones herself, that synopsis is DEAD-ON.
If nothing else, read "Alias" and then think about whether you'll be into this show or not.

Still not hyped for this show, but after the pure fantasticalism of Daredevil, I'm more than milling to give it a shot.

Wait, wait, wait...

There's a companion book for the series?!?

Is it a comic book?
Was there one for Daredevil too?
Does it include the plot for the whole series?
Is it a prequel?!?

THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS PEOPLE!!!

Danneel Ackles would've been a much better choice for Jessica Jones.

I believe her powers are that she can fly, has super strength, and resistant to bullets and stuff.

I wonder why both Luke Cage and Jessica Jones are based in Hell's Kitchen in these shows. I mean Luke Cage usually does his thing around Harlem, while Jessica Jones has her office somewhere in the city, but works for clients anywhere from Manhattan to Poughkeepsie.

I mean do all of them really have to protect the same little slice of Manhattan in order to cross over?

YES.
