Why is character continuity always the first on the chopping block? Matt and his father's relationship (more specifically their shared love for boxing) is a defining moment in Daredevil's history. Matt loved his father, so I don't know how to feel now that Waid wants to make Battlin' Jack Murdock a temperamental, abusive father on top of being in trouble with the mafia. It's rather disconcerting, considering his father's murder was a catalyst for Matt to become Daredevil and rid the city of the scum that took his father. But maybe Waid will find a different way to illustrate that sense of purpose.

@rabid not so much after Matt's accident, which would be the most recent memory of his father.

@MFDoom
Jack was a great guy when he was sober, but he knocked Matt around a lot toward the end.
