DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Star Vincent D'Onofrio Says A Battle With Spider-Man Is His MCU Endgame

With rumours swirling that Spider-Man 4 will see the wall-crawler team-up with Daredevil to take on The Kigpin, Hawkeye star Vincent D'Onofrio has shared his own hopes to face Peter Parker in the MCU...

Daredevil: Born Again is arguably the most highly anticipated Marvel Studios project coming to Disney+, and we expect the Man Without Fear's feud with The Kingpin to be a huge part of the eighteen-episode TV series. However, it might not be where their battle ends.

Recently, there have been rumblings about Spider-Man 4 being a street-level adventure that will see the wall-crawler team up with 'ol Hornhead to take Wilson Fisk down once and for all.

It's a story that would make sense, particularly as The Kingpin was originally introduced as a Spider-Man villain. Over the weekend, Vincent D'Onofrio made an appearance Salt Lake FanX 2022 in Utah, and told those in attendance that his MCU endgame is for his villain to go toe to toe with the MCU's Amazing Spider-Man.

"I mean, there’s only one really end goal...and I think somebody just said who that would be," the actor responded when asked which MCU character he'd most like Kingpin to cross paths with (moments after someone in the crowd shouted "Spider-Man").

As for whether he has a preference between Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Men, D'Onofrio responded, "Well, I know a lot of these answers that I give you are not the answers that you want, but I want to fight all of them. It doesn’t even have to be at the same time. I just want them all. Let’s know the truth. I want them all."

Make it happen, Marvel Studios.

Realistically, we anticipate it being Tom's Spidey who The Kingpin faces, and it will be interesting to see what happens when the two characters cross paths. If Daredevil's battle with Fisk is set to conclude in Spider-Man 4, it will be a ballsy move on the studio's part and essential that they ensure Born Again is satisfying in its own right rather than a "To be concluded..." story.

Check out the full Q&A with D'Onofrio below.

I just love how game he is to anything and everything Kingpin. Glad he's not coming off as some pretentious actor about the role, like a "Yahya Abdul-Mateen II type" would

Honestly, I think the Cox/D'Onofrio combo would've worked equally well in all 3 universes.

The MCU Kingpin is great in Daredevil and Hawkeye, but he is no a match for MCU Spider-Man strength.

@DoubleD - Didn't Kate Bishop beat the MCU Kingpin? How could he even be a threat to the MCU Spider-Man?

Spiderman 4: make it about a lonely Peter that feels lost and struggling to take down a gang as he 's lost all his gadgets. He's a bare bones spidey.
Make him run into daredevil and make daredevil a "mentor", to spidey.
Throughout the film continue to make peter feel "weak" and "helpless". Make him feel like he's lost something because of his lack of gadgets and friends and family.

Introduce the symbiote. Make it a thing a the (Kingpins), gang has been moving around. Let spidey get it and use that to make Kingpin and Spidey fight. Turn spidey brutal. Have the movie end with him beating down on Kingpin as Daredevil pulls him off. Have it end with spidey getting rid of the suit as he looks down at what he's done to Kingpin.

Hopefully it's as good as that Green Goblin fight.

Kingpin coerces/blackmails JJJ to fund the Scorpion operation while he takes care of Bullseye's vibranium spine. Spider-Man can fight the Scorpion and Daredevil fight Bullseye, and they team up at the end to take Kingpin down. JJJ can even get slapped in the process.

Do it, Marvel Studios, I double dog dare you !

@Reeds2Much - I... don't ......remember this.... is this original or altered?

@ProfessorWhy - It's original. Somewhere in Spider-Man's 280s or 290s.

The longer you stare at it the more hilarious it gets.

@Reeds2Much - Spider-Man has much more strength than Daredevil does, Peter said himself that he holds back most of the time and never lets out the 10-ton strength that he really has.

Plus, even though Daredevil is very agile, Spider-man's unique physical structure allows him to perform acrobatic moves that are impossible for a human to do.

Kingpin and Daredevil in a more grounded and darker Spiderman 4 would be great. I'm hoping they save the black suit though. Let's just keep this one as a stripped down and basic version of spiderman.

It’d certainly be a disappointment if they never crossed paths. My first introduction to Kingpin was in the ‘90s Spidey cartoon, I even bought the DVD with the Daredevil team-up episodes on it. I always loved the dynamic between Spidey and Hornhead, so seeing them take on Fisk together in Spider-Man 4 would be epic.
