DAREDEVIL Star Charlie Cox Hopes To Continue Exploring Matt Murdock's Rivalry With Bullseye In The MCU

Following his MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Charlie Cox has shared some more of his hopes for Daredevil moving forward, including an eventual rematch with Bullseye. Read on for further details...

Daredevil season 3 was a return to form for the Netflix series, pitting the Man Without Fear against Bullseye. Disappointingly, Matt Murdock returned to his black costume, while Wilson Bethel's sharpshooting villain spent most of his time in Daredevil's old suit! Still, it worked in the context of the show, and the stage was seemingly set for a more comic-accurate clash down the line.

Despite rumours of plans for Charlie Cox's lawyer and vigilante to appear in Disney+ TV shows like She-Hulk and Echo, we still don't know what the future holds in store for him. The hope is that another solo outing will follow, and the actor has his fingers crossed for a rematch with Bullseye.

"I really like the Black Widow, the Daredevil/Black Widow stuff. That relationship is really funny to me, I don't know why. I find it really funny and sexy at the same time," Cox said of possible future team-ups in the MCU. "Other than that, it's difficult. The obvious one is Spider-Man, isn't it? That is the one, I would have to get more time with Bullseye. We just touched on that story."

"[We] were just gearing up for it before we weren't allowed to continue. I really enjoyed working with Wilson Bethel on that character," he continued. "There are so many, but I think the obvious one is, it would be really cool to get some Daredevil/Spider-Man stuff, more stuff."

In the same interview, Cox shared his thoughts on the news all the Marvel Television shows are heading to Disney+ later this month on March 16. "I was texting with some of the guys from the show and the text I wrote was, 'Born Again,'" he said of his reaction to learning they'll live on after Disney's deal with Netflix saw everything from Daredevil to The Punisher taken off the streaming giant.

Who are you looking forward to seeing Daredevil cross paths with in the MCU?

Hopefully Bullseye makes it into a Dark Avengers movie one day.

This should be the greatest chase movie ever. Come to think of it- How cool would a Bullseye/Kraven vs Daredevil/Spider-man be??? I want to see it. I want to read it...

@tripttwe -

I like this. But only if DD and Spider-Man get split up for a portion of the film as well so we can see spidey do some stuff on his own too. Perhaps spidey gets stuck somewhere with bullseye and DD and Kraven go at it.

@HulkisHorny - I think it'd make for a great comic! Kraven going for both Spidey & DD on his introductory run seems a bit much.

As much as I love Spidey, he is starting to sound like the "Batman" of the MCU as everything must revolve around him. Not there yet of course, but starting to sound that way, at least to me. There are plenty of good protagonists for Daredevil to come in contact with. I have faith in Marvel at this point, specifically Feige, that they will take it in the right direction.

@Mugens - makes sense in Daredevils case, him and Spidey are NY based street level heroes, and they have a great relationship in the comics, so that's why they need to team up eventually in the movies

@Mugens - Always though how Disney not being able to use Spiderman (at least not to a full extent) was a blessing in disguise, otherwise the whole MCU would've revolved around him.
Disney not being able to use Marvel's most popular character (Spidey, the X-Men) were the reason they were "forced" to use B-listers (or even D-lister), and we got movies like the Guardians of the Galaxy, Dr Strange, or a character like Captain America being the heart of the whole cinematic universe.

Any chance of getting Scarlett back for a flashback meeting with Daredevil, maybe after her movie and before Infinity War, she's on a solo mission for Steve, and her and Matt cross paths...

Wilson Bethel is the unsung hero of Marvel Netflix Casting.

The man was almost Captain America. An he is up there with Charlie, Vinnie D and John Bernthal when it comes to superb casting in my opinion.

Bethel owned that role. Bring him back.

@BlackBeltJones - I believe it's hard to sell Punisher in 2022. I have a few ideas, but it'd really be reinventing the wheel. I'd like to see him go after politicians and crooked cops instead of people who are bottle necked into criminal activity due to politicians and crooked cops.

I'm excited for more Bullseye action!
Other characters I'd love to see explored through a new Daredevil series:
Mr. Fear
The Maggia/Silvermane
The Hood
Black Cat and/or Silver Sable (Could be fun to have them introduced with an antagonist edge before inevitably being brought in by a Sony project)

No, thanks.
MCU Daredevil should be a completely different character than the Netflix version.
Keep the actors, but playing other "variants".

Also, that last shot with the eye was dumb AF, a lot more goofy than anything Colin Farrel did.

@TheHumanSpider2 - Yeah that 2 second scene is way goofier than anything Colin Farrel did...

@Waddles - It worked in the context of that Bullseye and that movie.
The Netflix show was grounded, the character was a lot more complex, and Bethel did an incredible job, he almost made the character feel sympathetic.
And then this scene plays, with that stupid Dreamcast eye.

@Waddles - The director's cut is a legit good movie.
Of course, it pales in comparision with the show, but still.

I did mind the eye thing because it was the last shot of the entire series.
