DAREDEVIL Star Deborah Ann Woll Would Reprise The Role Of Karen Page "In A Heartbeat"

Deborah Ann Woll played Matt Murdock's colleague/love-interest over three seasons of Netflix's Daredevil, and while she hasn't been asked to reprise the role in The MCU, she's just waiting for the call.

Charlie Cox recently made his MCU debut as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home after playing a different version(?) of the same character in the now defunct Daredevil series, and Vincent D'Onofrio also returned as The Kingpin for Disney+'s Hawkeye. But what about the Netflix's show's supporting players?

Karen Page played a significant role in the series over the course of three seasons, and is an integral part of The Man Without Fear's mythos. If and when we get a new Daredevil series or movie (both have been rumored), will Deborah Ann Woll reprise her character?

The actress was asked about the possibility during an interview with Den of Geek, and while she claims she hasn't been contacted by Marvel Studios, she says she'd return as Karen "in a heartbeat" should the opportunity arise.

"I would come back because I want to play with Matt Murdock again," said Woll. "I want to play with Frank Castle again. I want to see these characters again. Even though I've stayed in touch with the humans, the characters are also fascinating people."

Unless they decided to pick up where the Netflix show left off with a "soft reboot," we can't see the likes of Woll and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson) being a part of whatever Marvel Studios has in the works for The Devil of Hell's Kitchen. Still, the fact that both Cox and D'Onofrio were asked to return does leave the door open to some extent, at least.

Would you like to see Deborah Ann Woll back as Karen Page? Drop us a comment down below.

@Dope21 - yeah. Especially because she has had zero career since then. There was even an a article last year kinda wondering if she would ever get an acting job again. So yeah, she’ll be back

@Krav - so lets turn down the biggest future roles of our careers joning the actual MCU because Disney not Marvel canceled our shows for a streaming service.

Thats so stupid if you were in their shoes you wouldn't even do it

@eGGtheGreat - It was Netflix's decision pure and simple. The only wrinkle being that Netflix offered to continue IF they could cut the series order down to, iirc, 8 eps per show. Disney demurred and Netflix cancelled. That's what happened and it was extensively reported on.

EDIT: The eps order for Iron Fist was actually cut down to 10 eps for the 2nd season and Marvel had agreed to the same for a Luke Cage third season.

If Screenrant is to be believed Iron Fist 1 and the Defenders poisoned the well for all of the Netflix shows (although DD 3 was hurt somewhat less than the others). Viewings dropping significantly in the US and Canada. With overseas already not good that was it. EDIT ENDS

Netflix had the option to continue and the shows were relatively cheap to produce. Netflix paid $200M for the first 4 series + The Defenders. Given what they are paying out these days that's not bad. The main problem afaik was that the shows were not popular in foreign markets where Netflix desperately needs product the viewers want.

EDIT See above. Domestic after 2016 was more of a problem than I earlier believed. EDIT ENDS

@Dope21 - did they f them though? Daredevil had a great conclusion on Netflix and the other shows were meh near the end. Now they will probably get more money and a bigger budget for wider audience

@eGGtheGreat - Disney pulled their movies from Netflix to launch Disney+, Netflix retaliated by cancelling the Defenders shows and then locking the characters behind a 2 year lockout period in their contract preventing Disney from using the characters. NBC pulled The Office from Netflix to put on Peacock, Netflix retaliated by raising monthly rates. As bad as Disney is, Netflix was 100% the culprit of everything that went wrong with companies pulling out.

No. She and Foggy were so annoying. Matt would be there with the sh*t kicked out of him and they'd be be badgering him like "Why can't you tell us what's going on? Do you know how it makes me feel? Waaaa." Just shut up and get off the screen.

I love her portrayal as karen. I don't understand the hate the actress gets when it's
the writers that have written her character. She is ripped right out of the comics.
I never found her character annoying. I was hoping she would hook up with Frank Castle.
I hope they bring her back and the actor who plays Foggy.

I think she’s great and she’s beautiful too. I didn’t mind the guy from idle hands, I really never got the hate for those two. I think people didn’t like their decisions and their stories but, They basically did not condone Matt’s double life. Not only do I think that makes sense, I think it was executed well. All opinions, so go ahead and hate it

Awful character, the way she tried to play the victim after tricking Ben Urich to interview Fisk's mom by using his sick mother as bait was just deplorable. And when he called her out on that BS she had the nerve to say "that's not fair 🤡🤡". I've hated her character ever since, I'd be fine if she got killed off screen or something 🖕🏿🖕🏿🖕🏿
Corruptor
Corruptor - 3/19/2022, 11:35 AM
@Lilvic92 - She was a flawed character, but that's OK... do we really want just plain good or evil characters? We would never have Punisher, Elektra, Wolverine... or for that matter Karen Page from the comics.
I think she played the part well.
They might wish to retcon her for the MCU to get rid of some of the less likeable aspects, I don't mind either way.
