Daredevil Under Fire: Series is Receiving Criticism By Blind

That's right: Daredevil has a group that are criticizing a certain aspect of the show. What is it? Click to find out!

Daredevil is a hit; Marvel has another success on their hands.  However, it isn't all good things, as the blind community has a pretty big criticism of the show, something that I actually agree with: they can't watch the show themselves.

That's right, the community of people that can't see want to watch, but can't.  Fans are right now pushing for Netflix to provide audio descriptions in their programming, with Daredevil being the first they want converted to recieve this audio enhancement.

The big thing is that the main character, Matt Murdock, is in fact blind (well they say he is...) so the hypocracy of leaving out the blind for this show says a lot about both Marvel, and Netflix in particular.  The campaign is currently called "The accessible Netflix project" and their website can be reached here: https://netflixproject.wordpress.com/

As Netflix is amongst the biggest video streaming and rental services in the world at the moment, and the approximate cost per episode to convert to audio enhancement is $1000 per episode, I find this to be fair.  What do you guys think?  Is it wrong that the blind community can't enjoy a show about a blind superhero, or any other Netflix programs?  Comment Below!

Season One of Daredevil is currently on Netflix and stars Charlie Cox as the titular hero that is just trying to save his city.

This news became irrelevant a few hours ago. Marvel and Netflix are ahead of the game and Daredevil is now the first Netflix show/movie with accessibility for the blind.

I agree, I think they should have recieved audio descriptions. It was very well Marvel's chance to give the blinds an awesome show to be proud of.

I hope they get what they want, would be a damn shame if they weren't able to watch a show about a blind man kicking major ass

This is ridiculous. Daredevil is great. Why drag it's name through the mud when your problem is with Netflix?

Of course, Danramm would look for something to bash Marvel with. Good thing Netflix was able to accommodate the blind with this new feature.
