ECHO Rumored To Be Akin To DAREDEVIL Season 4 With Most Of The Netflix Show's Cast Expected To Return

Echo is reportedly coming to Disney+, but following rumours that Charlie Cox's Man Without Fear will appear in the series, it's now said that much of Daredevil's supporting cast is also set to play a role.

Over the weekend, it was reported that Charlie Cox's Daredevil will have a role in the Echo series reportedly coming to Disney+. All these rumours are becoming a bit tiresome, especially as the Man Without Fear has also been slated to show up in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk

Now, @DanielRPK has clarified his previous claim about Echo to say that "this is still very much Echo's show," but that we're going to get what feels like a Daredevil season 4 "because we'll get to see all these characters from that show coming back and play big parts in it." He reiterates that "Echo is still the lead and it's her show," so it appears the title character won't be sidelined too much.

As expected, the scooper also confirms the obvious by noting that "the characters will be somewhat soft rebooted into the MCU but will still have a history with one another. So they'll look somewhat different with different backgrounds but still played by the same actors."

It's certainly an interesting decision to give Daredevil a significant role in Echo, but he does have a history with the character on the page. This would also help increase interest in the spinoff, as it could be a tough sell for regular fans even if the young hero makes a big impact in Hawkeye

With Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk rumoured to appear in Hawkeye and Matt Murdock supposedly a lock for Spider-Man: No Way Home, we'll soon learn whether these seemingly endless claims have any real weight behind them. If all of this is leading to a Daredevil movie or TV show, then we certainly have no complaints, and these supporting roles could go a long way towards resetting the hero.

We'll keep you guys updated if and when more is revealed.

Idk sounds like bullshit; too good to be true. No one loves that show more than me though, so this would be amazing.

I mean all the Netflix shows perfectly fit within the MCU right? Why rebooting them?
Origame

@Unites - yeah I don't get this. One of the most annoying things about the the Netflix shows is that they referenced the movies but did nothing to actually cross them over, and it was always a one way street with the references. Especially with the defenders. I mean, the avengers are based in New York, shield exists, and Spiderman is active. Yet no mention of a ninja clan plot to destroy new york?

@Unites - I wouldn’t say they fit seamlessly or anything, but I would still agree did they fit or can be fitted, between the snap and the multi-verse, it’s whatever they want to do. What if… we still get to see Luke Cage: Kingpin of Harlem? He’s unfairly lumped with Iron Fish, you ask me

@Origame - Feige played no part in the Netflix series. That's why they never crossed paths.
DaHyro

@Mrtoke - That’s not true; the Russos have said they nearly included them in Infinity War, but the only reasons it didn’t happen were because the filming schedules didn’t line up with the shows + they wanted to focus on the MCU film characters for a big film like that

@Unites - Marvel Own Daredevil, but not the Netflix versions. It was part of the deal? I think there a contract extension of allowing the actors to be used in the MCU?

MCU won't be able to use the netflix versions/costumes, storylines (that originate in the netflix versions), etc.

@DaHyro - yeah Feige would've nixed it anyways

@Origame - It's because they weren't canon, they were basically MCU fan fiction or the Marvel equivalent of the Star Wars expanded universe.

They can mention major/canon characters and locations, but the canon won't acknowledge any original characters or major events from those shows

Like you said "one way street". Though they could be canonized now, or just placed within the multiverse of infinite possibilities

Sigh. Soft reboot and a season 4 are two completely different things. And just having these characters here doesn't constitute a season 4, especially since echo is still the lead character. Assuming this is true I think it'll be great having Charlie cox back in the role, but all this stuff about it basically being season 4 just comes off as desperately trying to get the daredevil fanbase to like a show they have little faith in.

@Origame - It opens the door to something like a season 4. Or even a Daredevil movie.
Origame
Origame - 10/4/2021, 5:21 AM
@Nightwing1015 - I'm not denying that. But they're describing the echo show as daredevil season 4.

Also, if this is right then it won't be a season 4 anyway but a new version of the characters played by the original show actors.
Nightwing1015
Nightwing1015 - 10/4/2021, 5:24 AM
@Origame - Well they're saying it's akin to season 4 in the sense that we'll see all those characters and locations again. I know what they mean.

And I'm not sure it'll be a "new" version. It'll be a soft reboot. So people will have new looks. But I doubt they will either confirm or deny just how canon the original show was. They'll probably leave it open to interpretation which I think is for the best.
Origame
Origame - 10/4/2021, 5:30 AM
@Nightwing1015 - 1) I know. But using season 4 as a descriptor comes off as an attempt to make this sound different than it is. That's my point.

2) they said they'll have a different background.

Why not just make a DareDevil show? It was the best of the marvel Netflix series.
FrankieDedo
FrankieDedo - 10/4/2021, 5:30 AM
@slickrickdesigns - i am afraid that they could not have the rights to do a Daredevil series because of Netflix still owning the rights to series called like that, just like they can't make a standalone Hulk movie because of Universal rights, but they can put the character wherever they want

Deklipz

@FrankieDedo - Netflix DOESN’T own the rights to the characters anymore that’s the entire reason these rumors exist, because they’re back at Marvel.

@Deklipz - Not the characters, but Netflix own the interpretations?

I don't know if they're allowed to keep the shows they produced (I think they are - they paid a lot of noney for them), but Marvel wil probably want to avoid giving Netflix (their direct competitors) any associated boosts.
