Marvel's DAREDEVIL Netflix Series Begins Shooting In NYC This July

At the recent Paley Fest panel for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb confirmed that the 13-episode, Matt Murdock|Daredevil series will begin shooting in NYC this July.

Marvel Netlfix Daredevil series shoots first followed by AKA Jessica Jones


At the Paley Fest panel for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., HitFix caught up with head of Marvel television Jeph Loeb and asked about the Netflix series in development that are scheduled to begin with Daredevil, followed by Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage. The four, 13-episode Netflix series will then culminate in an "epic mini-series event" titled Defenders. Loeb revealed that Daredevil will begin shooting this July.  Daredevil's pilot episode will be written and directed by Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods).  With such a looming start date expect casting news for the Man Without Fear to heat up very soon.

I'm so excited for this show. Daredevil is my 2nd favorite hero behind Cyclops. If this gets screwed up I'll be so upset.

I thought it was always known that these Netflix shows would be part of the MCU. Whether the stories will cross over with the movies? I doubt it. But if they are successful, I would expect to see Daredevil, and Maybe Luke Cage make some cameos or be mentioned in the films.

Its a lot easier to get a TV actor to appear in a movie than it is to get a movie actor to appear on TV.

As for AoS, yeah, I would think so too. I half expect the characters on AoS to go underground and work for Fury. But then again, I don't know what happens in Winter Soldier. I could be totally off.

But "Agents of Fury" has a nice ring to it.

I just started watching Arrow based on people saying "it's good now", but watching the early episodes really is an indication of how bad CBTV can be. I've started counting how many times a character announces someone by their full name or reminds the audience of someone's relationship or occupation... then I lost count. Like I said, I've heard it gets better and I hope it does, but yowzah...

I really hope that these are great, but I think Jeph Loeb sucks. I go down the list of stuff he's produced and it's mostly disposable stupid television. I haven't done an exhaustive survey and I don't know Loeb from Adam, but I'm just pessimistic of the whole project.

Does anyone know to what degree Feige is involved? That would allay my concerns a bit.

You lost me at Jeff Lobe. Everything that wrinkled old piece of shit touches turns to...you guessed it, SHIT! The only reason this prune-faced [frick]er even has a job today is because he clung to Tim Sale's talent as an artist AND A WRITER and rode it all the way into a TV career.

@CrimsonFlash: Please make it good?! Have you never heard of Jeff Lobe and his amazing talent for creating brilliant cinematic gems on the small screen? You my friend have frankly missed out on entire lifetime's worth of quality TV this unparalleled genius has blessed the world with and for that I pity you. :/

@dorsk188: Kevin Feige has ZERO YES ZERO percent involvement with the TV stuff. Hence shows like Agents of S.H.I.T. But hey, at least creative mastermind and TV legend Jeff Lobe is involved so the chances of it being as at least good as Smallville are pretty high. So yeah, PHEW! :/
