More casting news here, this time of the Marvel Studios variety. According to Deadline, the upcoming Disney+ Ironheart series has added In The Heights actor Anthony Ramos in what sounds like a role that will have major significance for the MCU moving forward. He joins Dominique Thorne as the hero of the title, Riri Williams.

Though details on his character are being kept under wraps, the trade has heard that the part "will be similar to how Jonathan Majors was introduced as Kang The Conquer in Loki, where he is expected to not only have a big role in this series but in future Marvel projects as well."

There are multiple Marvel Comics heroes and villains that could fit this description, but we do know that both the son of Iron Man baddie Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges) and The Hood are expected to make their live-action debuts during the show.

We still don't know a whole lot about Ironheart, but the series is expected to stick pretty closely to Riri's comic book origin as "the creator of the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man." There's also been some speculation that the character could be retconned as a Wakandan since she'll also appear in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but we don't have anything to back that up.

Ramos recently landed a lead role in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which is set to bow on June 9, 2023. No premiere date for Ironheart has been announced.

Parker Robbins since he was rumored for this. Could be a villain to other street level heroes. Can't see him as Zeke since I don't buy him as Jeff Bridges son. Wild guesses are Sam Alexander or Reptil from an old gem.

@MCUKnight11 - I really hope they do Richard Rider before doing Sam Alexander. Or make it a mentor-mentee movie with both. I'll take anything with Rider really

@bkmeijer - Maybe we see Alexander as a human first and Rider is already Nova and recruits him later?

@bkmeijer - I definitely think Sam will be at least co-lead of any Nova film. I do hope Rider gets his due, though not sure how they'll handle his unfortunate name...

Alan Ritchson could be good as a weary, battle-worn last-survivor Rider, now that I think of it. Or heck, I'd take Kransinski as Rider over him as Reed.

He's been my top pick for Johnny Storm for a while now, so I hope it's that. And I could see that character fit in this show quite well too.

He was my pick for White Tiger. I think that character would be ripe for a D+ series.

I don’t know much about Riri, but for some reason I thought her MCU origin might see her finding parts of an old Iron Man suit and doing it up. I thought would be a nice contrast to the genius billionaire that was Tony Stark that Riri is still smart, but doesn’t have the access and her suits are shaped by how she has to use improvisation in most situations.

I might get thrown out the window, but what if they made Riri Rhode's daughter?

@ShellyMando - @Waddles - I agree, I don't think it would fit the MCU. He does have a niece in the comics tho

@Waddles - Idk, maybe he kept his relationship private? Like how Clint did in AoU.

@ShellyMando - that would be cool

@Waddles - Orrrr, he could be the perfect father who kept his family far away from the madness as possible. The fact he's had ZERO character development is all the more reason to make him Riri's father.

@Waddles - I could see it either way. The stakes are high enough in Rhodey's life where I can see his family being hidden. I like both ideas.

Too bad Iron-Man couldn't survive the SNAP to be in the next phases. I'm sure Ironheart will do great.
