Production on Ironheart is expected to begin soon, and The Cosmic Circus has now revealed that the show is using the working title, "Wise Guy." Needless to say, this has led to fans speculating wildly on social media that the plan is for Tony Stark/Iron Man to make his presence felt in the Disney+ series.

After all, "wise guy" is definitely a description that fits the Armored Avenger, and this wouldn't necessarily mean his sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame would be undone in any way.

When Riri Williams was introduced, she met an A.I. version of Tony after he had "died" during the events of Civil War II. He'd help the young hero create an armour of her own, and was a helpful voice in her ear as she headed into battle. With that in mind, Ironheart could easily give Robert Downey Jr. a supporting role here, even if it's only a case of him lending his voice to the series.

It's also possible that this "wise guy" is War Machine, but every bit as likely it's a reference from the show's creative team that we don't currently understand.

We'll have to wait and see, but it's easy to see why fans are convinced/hopeful that the plan is for Iron Man to factor into this small screen adventure somehow. It would certainly be strange for his legacy not to be felt in some way, and it would be fun for Tony to become the new J.A.R.V.I.S. or F.R.I.D.A.Y.!

As always, we'll keep you updated, but keep checking back here for more on Ironheart as we have it!

This is the show I’m most skeptical of as I didn’t really like her character in the comics. So I hope that this show can improve her character like how Spidey PS4 and into the spider verse did for miles morales

@MeAreLegend -
I think the best way to do it would have her be a fan of Iron Man, sort of like a tech/garage junkie who is constantly tinkering with things that either don't work or wind up exploding. It's clear she needs a single breakthrough to be successful but it's just not happening, she's inspired by Tony Stark as an inventor as opposed to him as Iron Man or as a person.

Feeling low she winds up visiting the former site of Stark Tower (Oscorp?) and discovers a smuggling operation in which Avengers/Iron Man tech is being sold, either pre-existing tech or replicated technology. She winds up managing to steal a briefcase containing a prototype variant of the Mark 5, she brings it home.

She wants to return it but stumbles across old hologram recordings of Tony Stark either meant for Morgan OR off-screen clips from around the time of Iron Man 1 (Where he made the decision to stop terrorists using his tech), Iron Man 2 (Where he thought he was going to die) OR Iron Man 3 (where he was paranoid about threats)

Riri initially attempts to return the stolen tech to the original owner, but Stark Industries shutdown during the five year gap between Infinity War and Endgame. Perhaps she tracks down where the Stark Tech was from, some warehouse/high tech storage company and discovers the person running it is corrupt and selling off Iron Man/Avengers tech and knockoffs, a running theme of the series would be how Riri is viewed like a knockoff Iron Man.

Then Riri devotes herself to trying to stop Iron Man/Avengers tech from falling into the wrong hands. Eventually she'd encounter either Pepper Potts (Potentially as Rescue) or Rhodey (As War Machine) who would serve as a test for her intentions.

She would wind up creating an improved arc reactor, if Tony built it in a cave with a bunch of scraps and an electromagnet it should be possible for people around 15 years later in-universe to create or improve it, especially when Tony had nanotechnology in Infinity War/Endgame.

Generally the main distinction here is that
- Peter Parker admires Iron Man as a hero
- Riri admires him for his tech expertise
- Morgan admires him for his nature as a person

All these aspects would be tested as we'd lean darker truths about Tony, such as expanding on the idea of Tony's father potentially stealing technology or delving into how much of the Iron Man suit was really based on weapons of war that Tony sold or created prior that caused countless damage.

Harley Keener and Onome to be Riri's classmates at MIT.

@Repian - I dig this idea! Is this image from the Disney Avengers Campus canon?

@Repian - I want Riri to do it all on her own with Tony's help, but having Harley around would be pretty cool

"Wise Guy" is a good name for an I.A. It may be the first A.I. created by Tony at MIT. Then, Riri discovers her and "he" is her best ally.

Yeah this is a stretch at best - like any wild theory there could eventually be threads of truth to it, but the concept that "Wise Guy" is supposed to be an indication that Tony Stark is in the series is paper thin.

Will not happen. At best we get a voice actor that sounds like RDJ.

@Spike101 - I agree,I can't see The Avengers fighting The X-Men if it's not against the originals.
